Using +reach to Publish Routes

This explains how to use the +reach command to publish routes in-game.

Purpose

This command is used to publish directions to reach areas (often from +mapper) within the game.

Specifically, this lets you post routes to your favorite places, and people can read them directly. It's also a useful place to put your own references. Note that there is no way for people to see what routes you've posted, so you can have secret routes with odd names. It's up to you to document (typically via a web-page or news announcement) what routes they should look for.

Note: this assumes you understand lsedit.

Usage

The routes are stored in a directory on your character named "+reach". For instance, if you wanted to store a route to your home, you would do the following:

    lsedit me=+reach/home
    .del 1 999
Add steps here, as many lines as needed.
to get them to my home.
    .end

And that's it!

To use the route, you (or anyone else) could do "+reach name=home". To see the route to Otter's home for instance, enter in the MUCK "+reach otter=home".
