Redwall Abbey: Rules
IC Rules
Breaking IC rules is met with IC punishments. This usually ranges from chores, to confinement to one's dorm, to more chores. Banishment is only used as a last recourse, and one has to have killed or attempted to kill another Redwaller for banishment to be considered.
- There is to be no fighting. Unarmed fighting will be met with chores. Armed fighting will be met with chores, and the permission to carry weapons within Redwall being revoked for the offenders.
- No intentionally spiteful actions toward another.
- No activities banned by the moral standing of the code of Redwall
- Never turn anybeast in need away.
- No verbal abuse.
OOC Rules
Breaking of OOC rules can result in probation or banning from the area. In extreme cases, banishment from the MUCK. We don't want that, so we'll try to work things out with you first, but be aware!
- OOC fighting and insults are not allowed. If you have a beef with someone, either keep it private, or take it up with one of the Elders to get it worked out. Don't let it become a huge problem. Fighting and insults in the public chat channels or room page is strictly forbidden.
- Keep within the rating and guidelines of the MUCK
- The Abbot/Abbess, Champion, and Badger Mother have the final say on all things IC, in that order. (Abbot/Abbess > Champion > Badger Mother)
Weapons Policy
Weapons in Redwall are allowed in times of peace among both visitors and residents who are not members of the order (with exceptions below). These must be kept sheathed or unstrung at all times, unless there is immediate danger to the beast bearing the weapon, or those around him.
- Note: Guards are the only beasts allowed to have bared weapons when there is not an immediate danger to themselves or the beasts around them. Immediate danger refers to being attacked with a weapon, with the obvious intent of the attacker to deal death or grievous harm. An unarmed opponent is generally not considered acceptable for this, unless the opponent is of a larger, predatory species that has its own natural weapons (badger, large birds, monitor lizards, etc.)
- Members of Redwall's order are not allowed to carry weapons except when in immediate defense of themselves or others from attack. As order members are peaceful beasts, these weapons are restricted to staves. Most order members should not even wish to carry weapons at all, if they are in keeping with Redwall's teachings.
- In times of war or danger on a grand scale, which involves imminent or ongoing attack, or invasion, all weapon restrictions are completely lifted.
- If there is need for use of weapons in ceremony or events, such as archery contests, this is allowed so long as approval has been obtained from the Abbot. In absense of the Abbot, the Champion, and in absense of the Champion, one of the other elders.
- This policy is considered a privilege, not a right. Abuse of the policy will result in the offender being stripped of all weapons while within the walls of Redwall Abbey for the duration of their stay. This decision must be made by an Elder, or one of the guards. An Elder make revoke the decision if the offender proves that they can be responsible and trustworthy in the carrying of arms.
--Exceptions: Large polearm weapons such as pikes, halberds, and spears are asked to be kept locked away except when being transported. When being transported, it is asked that you keep the blade(s) of such weapons wrapped with cloth.
