Long Patrol Events
Greetings, all! Bored of the same old dining chamber/training room/insert cliche location here RP? Well, this is the place to be! Any events, whether in planning stage or in progress, will be posted and explained here. Suggestions and discussion are encouraged. And do please give the dear leaders a poke if this page gets outdated, so that they can be so kind as to fix it for you.
Thanks!
NEW POLICY
Really, why should we leaders have to run all of the events? It's your turn! If you have a TP idea, then what else is there to do other than run it? There are only three requirements:
1) Inform - in comment here and in a page-mail to the officers - what your TP will be, at least two weeks in advance. A date and time must be specified.
2) Send out a page-mail at least a week in advance to all of the members in the LP (+skills members Long-Patrol), and write up an MOTD (assuming that information of the event would benefit the whole MUCK) and have it posted by a consultant. Psst, I hear Zoe_Lang has MOTD posting abilities.
3) The event should not be a platform with which to boost your character in some manner; do not make your character the center of the role play. TPs aren't a means to your end, they're a means to the group's ends. This requirement can in rare cases be adjusted, given sufficient reason and officer approval.

TP idea involving missing recruits, or: "But... Wasn't Vic with you?"

Here's an idea for a TP I got last night when a certain hare tried to trick Dandelion and another, unnamed recruit to go out of the mountain for some reason...
What if some irresponsible hare actually did manage to trick a couple of recruits to go with him or her out in the forest. Once there, the older hare intends to give them a fright by disappearing on them and let them find their own way back to the mountain.
The problem is everything doesn't go as planned, because the group of confused recruits manage to stumble on something nasty. Whatever it is - probably some vermin or something - it gives the recruits a major fright. They are - after all - unarmed or practically unarmed, and they all bolt in various directions or hide.
One by one the recruits make it back to the mountains where by then the more responsible hares (i.e. the officers) have started to miss them, and are prepared to give them a severe telling to.
As time goes by all the recruits come skulking back, except for one.
It's Vic, that quiet little buck that never seemed to have any friends, always was by himself, and had that annoying habit of sucking on his ear... Where did he go? He was one of the first ones to bolt, and he runs fast, so he should have gotten back first... Except maybe he bolted in the wrong direction?
Depending on if and when and where Vic is found, and in what condition, this one could turn out quite nasty. At any rate, a lot of young hares are going to get a lot of talking to about responsibility...
So... How do you like my idea?

Recruit Fight Night

Not sure if this can be termed as a TP but I'll post a plot that is in the works. Terrance has been picked on by some bigger recruits for a while now and he's getting tired of it. So pretty soon, a challenge will be issued to those bullies. The thoughts currently are that it will be a late night/early morning fight (via time warp) with Terrance vs. Tom (spoofed bully) and Taye vs Flatpaw (spoofed lackey) in the boxing chamber to avoid detection by officers. Recruits, being young and akin to gossiping, would soon find out and so when the time for the fight comes, all of the recruits will be there to watch. This can open up possibilities for someone to play a bookie and things can turn into a real event when some mischievious recruits liberate a few kegs of ale from the cellar.

The Road to Ruin?

The premise behind this TP is, in essence, the discovery of a band of vermin-turned-slavers having come upon a few families of varying species, and utilized them as targets of opportunity in a kidnapping scheme. They are headed East, essentially in the same direction as the Long Patrol; after battle ensues, and upon further inspection, several more groups are spotted and dealt with accordingly.
The implications are becoming troublesome, as it seems that these may not be isolated incidents, but may be related to some manner of larger plot, and the Long Patrol would do well to get to the heart of the matter before the kidnapping spree reaches Mossflower. Could some sort of large scale trade be forming? Is there some dark task afoot that would require the use of so many slaves?
Required Resources:
- Several Vermin Alts to play a part in leading the different bands. Have any Evil Alts that are already well established in the criminal underworld? Perhaps they might be easily drawn into any scheme that might be going on.
- A few Zombies played by as few players as possible (players experienced in multitasking flawlessly), to keep the experience as realistic and suspenseful as possible for those involved
- Enough Hares to (at planned times) execute the raids on slaver camps, and let the daylight into a few hides
The plot would ultimately finish up long before the Hares reached Redwall, of course, in an attempt to make sure the RP doesn't have to turn into a large scale panic. It could, however, be extended to include a bit of Abbey help if those involved so wished. The beauty of so simple an idea is held within the elastic nature of its boundaries. Either way, the patrol should have stories to tell by the time they reach their destination! It's also a warrant for more feasting, and I am a big fan of that.

Mysterious Prisoner

Here's one for you... Let's say a patrol on the way out hear sounds of battle. They rush to the scene to find another, inbound patrol being ambushed by vermin. They reach the battle too late to save any of the Patroller hares, and most of the vermin are dead too, or they quickly run away when they see the Patrollers getting reinforcements.
The only one left behind is a vermin beast, tied up and gagged, and obviously a prisoner. But whose prisoner? Was he taken prisoner by the patrol, and his friends tried to free him? Or was he taken prisoner by the other vermin, and the patrol tried to free him for some reason? Or did the two groups just happen to meet, and in that case, whose prisoner was he?
Surrounded by Long Patrollers and still tied up, it's obvious whose side the vermin prisoner will claim to be on, but is he telling the truth? And how to verify or falsify his claims?
