The Long Patrol Drabble Writing Challenge

What is it? Read on and find out!

I imagine your first question is, what's a drabble?

Basically, a drabble is any short, self-contained piece of writing. They are traditionally 100 words exactly, but for this situation we'll stretch that to anything that seems reasonable, so long as it's relatively short!

So what're we doing with these drabbles? How is it a challenge?

Well. Anyone who is interested in participating can comment below. Once you have put your name into the proverbial hat, anyone else can challenge you to write a drabble for them. The catch is that /they/ get to choose what you're writing about.

So what sort of things should we request?

Have you ever wondered about a strange limp or a distinctive scar? Or some part of someone's back story that's never been quite explained? Go ahead and ask 'em to tell you a story! Have you never had a chance to interact with their character? Ask them to write up a short interaction! Whatever you can think of, so long as it's appropriately G-rated, is fair game!

Remember that this is meant to be fun! If someone doesn't get around to writing your drabble, don't hound them. Either they'll get to it or they're off having that thing which we MUCKers suspiciously refer to as a "life". XD One way or another, enjoy yourself!

  1. words is a bit limiting for me, actually it's more like strangling my style.

Good idea though but for me I need about 3,000-25,000 words to feel comfortable in doing anything about Jarril. :)

Or any of my old characters that have died. Such as Skipja, Ryssa. :)
