Keiran found himself attached to her, thinking things never before thought of in his head... Where is she, what's she doing gone so long? He worried for somebeast else. Hare and jill got along great, but one time she went away for a while, and when she came back, he saw her...
Sorta hanging on to another guy. Another ferret, more specifically. Caina, in plain view of Keiran, hugged and kissed this ferret hob. In response to Keiran's shock, Caina simply explained that it would've never worked out, that Caina saw him as a friend, as a brother, more than as a partner.
Keiran was heartbroken.
2) He became the librarian, pretty much, 'cause he was /already/ acting as a librarian even as a novice. Technically, he's not even the librarian now, because that position has to be appointed by the Abbot or Abbess, which the abbey doesn't have right now. At the moment, he's just "acting-librarian," and pretty much everyone sees him as the librarian. Safe to say when there's an Abbot or Abbess, he'll probably be appointed librarian.
