Still just a Private when the Bloodthirsters first started their take-over of Halyard village, Zeraph was one of the fighters to be taken along on the 'diplomatic trip' to meet with the vermin. When the Long Patrol surrendered, Raph was taken into Halyard Tavern to be chained with the rest of the captives. In this way, the young buck met Keita.
But that's not what this story is about! Restrained with Keita behind the bar was a vixen who had been a resident of the village when the horde took control; Taeura. With his loathe for any vermin, Raph was at first just content to ignore her. However as the days went on and he was injured - to just be placed behind the bar instead - Zeraph began to actually talk more with Tae, Keita, and the vermin he was having to serve as a 'bartender'.
A friendship formed between him and the vixen, especially as the Private helped in the scheme to dig out of the tavern through the back way. However it was actually after the escape that Taeura and Zeraph met again within the mountain.. and began showing feelings for each other. Spending more time together meant that these affections just grew. After the retake of Halyard village from the Bloodthirsters, Raph prmoised to marry the vixen... and that is that.
