@help does have pretty much the same function, but it's on the MUCK and in real-time, so if there's no-one around to help a player then that player's question goes unanswered. That's why it's helpful to have a discussion page where its history is visible and questions can be seen by all, not just by those who happen to be on the MUCK (and @help) at the right time. That's why I pointed Joshua to the FAQ forum.
