Also... a possible way to distribute an unusual or rare species fairly might be a kind of lottery. Put a quota on the number of that particular species that will be allowed in the muck, then everyone who's interested in getting one can apply to an auto-join skills group, and then the computer randomly selects players from that list to receive a wolf char. :)

Better idea than most

If I were going to allow "unusual" characters, I'd be more likely to do a lottery than any sort of "evaluation of suitability."

However, good players could generate good RP with any character, from a simple mouse to the most powerful monitor lizard.

Focus on RP instead of on things like "who's turn to pose" and "getting the ultra-good pose" and make things happen that are fun.

Then, when the RP is up and the amount of players is growing and there's enough people online to justify "a few unusual things" a lottery is a reasonable possibility.
