Why it takes time to fix the Abbey

Posted by otter at 2005-03-30 06:37 PM
When something as large as the Abbey is damaged, in the period of the MU, it would take _decades_ to fix. We've got the fixes coming in over a couple of years.

It's no to show that the Abbey is broken and defenseless. It's to provide continuity. Otherwise, it's like Scooby Doo. Each weak, a new challenge, and then all is wrapped up and ready for the next week.

Re: why it takes time...

I realise it takes time to rebuild a large stone structure, but my point was that there doesn't seem to be a whole lot done by the characters in the Abbey. There's talk about having the gates replaced, but no work gets done. There have been a couple of attempts at restoring things, but overall the population of the Abbey seem very disheartened and passive. Few appear to be working at all.
