Command Changes/Additions: 2003/10 - 2004/04

New commands you'd like to have or changes to existing commands you'd like made.

The MU has many commands.

If you want new ones added, or changes to any that are already here, please let us know!

People, feedback on these. Ones that have lots of interest have a better chance of getting done.

Note: You have to be a member to speak. See Joining the website for details.

Character problems...

Posted by: DZeil at 2003-10-25

Well one of the problems I am having at the moment (infact for the last quarter and a bit) has to do with loss of a alt's password.

I suggest a lock-setting for holder players, so they can be password-locked to other players so they can use the wizzard @password command on a character who has this locked to them. This would also require confirmation... as to not be abused and have a new-player being tricked into this, I suggest it be set on registration only through a MUF program that clearly states the fact that "player name" will be able to change your password, and to press "No" if you do not want them to be able to, in capatal letters.

People can lose passwords on alts or holder players and their secret phrase, yes I do know this is not a good move, however it would let players have more control over their characters incase they do lose a character's pass/phrase.

Anyway, just a suggestion: Let players be able to change alts passwords from a master account.

Character Creation Notification?

Posted by: DZeil at 2003-10-26

When a player is +pcreated, could it be set up so it notifies all helpers listening to @help what guest was re-named to what player, basicly the output the triggerer of the command is given, is echoed over the @help channel.

A program I guess...

Posted by: Kulos at 2003-10-26

I'm guessing that this would take someone writing a program and attaching it to a certain person or whatnot.

Anyways, my idea for this is when rooms/regions/etc get rediscribed for the new season, or if a program auto-rediscribes a room, that the room is tagged or flagged somehow, to which this person that has this certain program (The program itself would be pertaining to changing clothes automatically pertaining to the rooms description), there clothes would change to the rooms description flag.

So say a room was flagged with the Winter flag, then ther person that has initiated this program or attached it to them would have already described thier Winter/Summer/Fall/Spring clothing descriptions and it would automatically change it.

This is just some spur of the moment thought I had, just voicing it. If I need to describe it better, let me know.

Field-based battle system?

Posted by: RyoX at 2003-11-15

I just had an idea... Let's say you wanted to fight someone in a battlefield X by Y squares. You'd type @battle and then someone would type @battlejoin to join as the opponent fighter. When in battle mode (turn-based), the players would type @m or another battle command. The field would be squares with Y as you, and O as your opponent. There would be a hit-point meter displayed, and the other battle commands would be:

@items would display the objects in your inventory that have a valid entry in a battle property. @use

would be self-explanitory. @retreat would end the battle.

The battle properties would be battletype, battlerange, battlespeed, battledmg, and battleendurance. (Not sure if I missed anything...)

+lock Abode

Posted by: Kevarr at 2003-12-03

This may not be the best place to put it, and I honestly don't know what would be required to fix it, but the Abode flag hasn't worked in ages. Would it be possible for someone to work on this?

Language

Posted by: Adan at 2004-03-12

Okay. . . Just a suggestion. I don't know HOW the code works, but it's nifty. Anyway, my suggestion goes something like this:

On Elendor MUSH, the various cultures have a "training" level in languages appropriate to them. These people can talk in this language; basically, they say +speak language=their pose, and anything in Quotes will have the in front of the speech. Anybody who doesn't know how to speak that language sees "" or, depending on how good they are, asterisks with the occasional word they understand.

Is this kind of thing possible with MUCK code? It'd be really neat.

Addon

Ergh. To fix my previous post, people who don't know the language see "UNINTELLIGIBLE SPEECH" when someone speaks in a language they don't know. Just a bit of clarification.
