Command Changes/Additions: 2004/05 - 2004/07

New commands you'd like to have or changes to existing commands you'd like made.

The MU has many commands. If you want new ones added, or changes to any that are already here, please let us know!

People, feedback on these. Ones that have lots of interest have a better chance of getting done.

Note: You have to be a member to speak. See Joining the website for details.

Sky Ideas

Posted by: Tivenn at 2004-05-01

I'm in the process of finishing up a sky network for Noonvale and wonder if there is a good command to use to be able to see into other areas/listen in to other areas that works better then +nearby/@camera. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Unconfusing The Staff System

Posted by: Amethyst at 2004-07-09

First of all, let me say that I like being able to write my own resume for exactly what I want to do as a staffer. I enjoy being able to do just the things I like to do and feel comfortable with, without a bunch of less pleasant things being lumped into the bargain. People can even think up new, interesting things to do as a staffer that no one has thought of before. However, the way the staff system is at the moment has caused a slight problem, from what I can see. Not everyone is sure who, exactly, the staffers are, or who, exactly, to go to when they need something. There IS the page on the site that has the different helper categories, and a link to it from the Welcome page. The page is set up much better than it had been in the beginning, which helps get rid of some of the confusion. However, despite this, some people still might not be sure who to turn to in their time of need. All they know is that Otter is the guy at the top, so it seems most try to go straight to contacting him with their troubles...even when he's not online at the time, and there's staffers connected that could easily help them out immediately. Well, I have a suggestion to help lessen the confusion a little bit further, and make finding help that much easier. Before the staff change, there was a list of Geographers and a list of Heroes and Villains on the MU* that you could access with simple, easy to remember commands, "geos" and "heros". These lists gave the staffers' names, whether they were online or offline, and for the geos, they even had a little blip about what they specialized in, I believe. If it would be at all possible to set up something like this for the new staff, I think it would be a great improvement. People could easily see who the staffers are, who's connected and ready to help, and a short little piece on what they can help with, such as "Disputes/RP Advice" or "MPI/Building Help", etc. Well, this turned a bit more long winded than I intended. But, I'd just like to know if this could work or not, or if anyone has any other ideas or comments.
