Like I said, it was late afternoon, early evening for me. Peak hours for anybody anywhere, honestly. I'm in US Central, and if you want specifics it was between 4pm-6pm that I was on. I checked the staff list and there was a handful on, I paged the help channel and waited for near a half hour, then paged again, no answer. I didn't want to pester but I was getting impatient. So I paged each one. No answer.
I just find that behavior incredibly rude. To be on and be helpers and then not do your job. To go afk when you're on one of those said characters. If they don't want to help newcomers they should just get on an alt rather than waste the time of others calling out for aid and having it fall on deaf ears.
Sorry for ranting, but it still has me annoyed. And I know I probably sound like an immature little drama bomb but oh well.

You don't sound like "an immature little drama bomb" to me. I had to try for several days before I finally had my character (Rhowena) created. ARG! to say the least. When my character is old enough to become a helper, which will be at the end of January, I won't become one of these staffers we're complaining about. I'm training in the meantime. (I page GUESTS offering help. Though some get scared away or something and disconnect. Which annoys me. I LIKE helping people.)
