Great, except...

I notice that while two characters might be roleplaying out a fight... very often there's also this tendency to be able to DODGE EVERYTHING.

It kind of goes along with the lines of:
a) My character has armor, and hence doesn't get hurt. - You wrote on this in the tutorial, and people do seem to forget that wearing armor is a significant sacrifice of agility and speed in exchange for strength to take a blow.
b) My character is super speedy/agile/lithe/quick/fast-reflexed despite being X-species that regularly... isn't. - Not picking on badgers, moles, or hedgehogs in particular, but if you create a character that is, well, Huge... then people forget Size Does Matter. This goes for others as well. Badgers in my mind just Can't move as fast as a hare. And they shouldn't. That's not the point of having a badger, y'know? If you wanted a quick and agile character, why not pick a species that IS quick and agile, instead of twinking a big one? And even otters. Otters are quick... IN the water. No, they're not seals either and are rather lithe on land too, but Every species has strengths and weaknesses to exploit and RP out. I think lots of people miss this too.
c) My character's a good dodge and striker. - This one is what I think is subtle, but Essential to a fight. If both characters (we'll just use two as an example) are expert dodgers, then how the heck are they supposed to land blows on each other? The key here is OOC communication and IC understanding. Especially on a consentual game of this sort, I think you really have to know what you're getting yourself into if you're going into a fight. Also, the outcome depends on the knowing of your character, at least, and interpreting the poses as suitable to both players. 'Oh but my character's excellent at dodging!' Read: 'I don't want my character to get hurt, but I want him/her to win!' Well, if neither player wanted their character hurt, then why the heck are you fighting? There are other ways to solve something without fighting.

What there /isn't/ a way to do, is solving a twinkfest. Well, outside of saying: HEY, take a hit!

But yeah. Good tutorial. Let's just hope the people who need it, will read it.

And apologies about linebreaks. I should figure out how this actually works. Looked nice and organized when I copypasted it. Oh well.
