The worst part of logging - for my part - is the cleaning up of the log, removing those room pages that usually make up 75% of the log, as well as the pages, output from various programs, and system messages. All you really want is the IC poses, says, and spoofs, right? And that's exactly what the radio broadcasts.

So, while you can set up a lot of excepts so that your client only logs what you really want, it's far easier to set it up so it only logs the radio. That's one rule instead of tens of rules, and is a lot simpler. If you don't want to connect as a guest for example, just for the purpouse of logging this way, you can always listen to the radio with your active character, and have the client set up so it doesn't display radio messages, and logs only radio messages.

That way you'll wind up with a log that contains only what you want to record. Every line will be prefixed by the radio's prefix, but you can strip that away in a fraction of a second for most logs.

If you don't want to fiddle too much with your client's settings you can just log everything as well as the radio, and then filter out everything but the radio messages first, and then strip away the prefixes - which takes half a second or so.

The downside to this method is, of course, that it only works in areas that broadcast over the radio.

I've got a little present. In this folder, I'm going to be cross-publishing my 'Apothecary's Nook' articles, as well as creating my long-promised herbal index. The articles themselves cover everything from proper treatment of that most common of wounds (the shoulder) to the different poisons, and treatment of them, to the specific diseases contracted by Red Foxes. The first two articles are currently pending publication, and as soon as I can dig up the spares on my computer, there will be more to come.
