I won't be here.

As some of you know, I was moving today. Halfway to my destination, my car's engine caught fire. We were unable to put it out, and the fire spread to the rest of the car. This resulted in a total loss of both the car and everything I had in it.

What this means is that my computer is also gone. I will not have net access except in rare circumstances for the foreseeable future.

This means that I will not be around to mediate these recent concerns. So, unfortunately, those who are having a problem with the current roleplay in Redwall will have to find a way to try and fix it themselves, which, not to be too blunt, is exactly what they should be trying to do anyway, rather than snarking and whining and pointing fingers, or up and quitting the group altogether.

I am, and here I do mean to be blunt, extremely disappointed with how certain players have reacted to their own concerns. This is, above all, a game. It is meant to be enjoyable, not just for you, but for everyone. It is meant to be open and welcoming to new players, *which includes newbies who are overdramatic, over-angsty, over-violent, or any other over you could name.* Our job, as players who have been here longer, is to teach and educate newer players, not to criticize and avoid them. And yes, while many of the parties in which I am expressing my disappointment would claim otherwise, that is exactly what they have been doing.

This and *only* this, a welcoming, tolerant, helpful atmosphere, will encourage newbies to remain with our game as a whole, let alone the Redwall group. Were I, as a newbie, to read a certain few posts on this thread, or receive the above page mail, I would not wish to remain on the game, because I would feel chastised, belittled, and unwelcome.

Antonia, your page mail did not foster feelings that were in any way helpful to this situation. All of the reactions I've received have been varied responses of hurt, offended, and annoyed, and all from players who have been trying their level best to *help* the very situation that has you so up in arms. One, I'm told, has either left the MU or is thinking of leaving it, an individual who has done an incredible amount of work, not just on the Redwall group, but also the Ruingate group, and as a staffer. Your criticism was not aimed at the guilty parties. You were, in fact, preaching to the choir.

Given that you yourself have decided to leave the Redwall area, to not participate, and certainly not continue to attempt to alleviate the very thing that has upset you, you have made yourself not a non-factor in this issue, but in fact a part of the problem itself.

Thank you for your input, but I am quite fed up with the sideline hecklers who bring plenty of complaints, but no solutions, and no *attempts* at solutions to the table. You are, of course, welcome to leave the group at any time if you are not enjoying yourself. That's not the problem. But leaving the group with a great big face-slap for everyone still in it, everyone still trying to alleviate the problem that *you* insist is so very dire, is not welcome, and not appreciated. Kicking a dog and then crowing over how it made a noise is not something to be proud of.

I welcome you to offer helpful solutions, such as Merdez, Amethyst, and Josiah have. Otherwise, since you have removed yourself from the area in question and have stated you only intend to 'check up on us', like a nanny with badly behaved children, I welcome you to find some other place to play more suited to your tastes, and allow us to go on with trying to help the balance in our group with 'very little hope', minus your unhelpful and snide remarks.

For the rest, those who are trying, and will still try, to make both this group and this game a more enjoyable experience for all involved, you have my thanks, and my apologies that I won't be able to help you for at least a little while. You know who you are. Thank you. You make Redwall MU what it is.

For those of you who are not trying, or who have stopped trying, or who never tried to begin with, but enjoy sitting back and griping about things to players when you think we cannot hear, I reiterate that you are part of the problem. Most of you are also adults. You should not need a babysitter to sit around and make sure you all play nicely. And this babysitter is both tired of doing so and regardless currently unable to.
