Here is the p#mail that kick started this whole debate. Everyone who is part of the abbey has already seen it, but many more might find my opinion of interest given the debate here.

I'm sending this to everyone on the three redwall +skill lists. If you don't think this applies to you, I'd appreciate it if you would read it anyways.
I am sick and tired of the fighting in Redwall Abbey. I have been RPing in redwall for about three years now, with multiple alts. Toni is now rather well established. And I have been part of many discussions about moving Redwall forward, about what we need to attract more members, and suchlike. Well, I just want to state here and now that no matter what some players seem to think, fighting in an ICly peaceful place does *NOT* attract attention. If we're trying to attract new members, you might want to think about keeping the old ones as well. I've been around for three years, and I'm not saying I'm old, or needed, or anything along those lines. I'm saying that I am sick and tired of RPing in Redwall Abbey, because 1 out of 2 RPs that I'm in require me trying to break up someone fighting. I say try because I'm usually not listened to. Most people are so wrapped up in their own RP to do otherwise.
Yes, I'm not being polite. I'm well aware of that. I've had it. I want people to react to this. Trust me, I have plenty more to say on the subject. I want reactions. I want people to be annoyed enough that they'll think about this in the future.
When the IC rules of a place require no weapons, DON'T RP WITH WEAPONS. When the IC rules of a place say no fighting will be tolerated, QUIT FIGHTING. Some players seem to think that they are an exception. Guess what, you're not. All this is doing is pushing away some of the people that Redwall won't survive without. No, I'm not talking about me. You all would probably do just fine without me. But the constant "I'm the exception" crap is offending more than just me, I can promise you that.
What's the result of this? The exact opposite of what we've been hoping for. We're not attracting new members. We are attracting new players who are following our example and not playing by the IC rules. I will not mention names. But I have seen enough war-mongering in the Abbey to last me a lifetime.
We have stated many places that we are trying to bring more RP into the Abbey. Well, I'm here to state that RPing in the Abbey is no longer fun for me. I'm not going to continue RPing in the Abbey. I'm done for awhile. Maybe I'll come on every once in awhile to see how everyone is doing. But I can't stand this un-IC stance so many players are taking. And since I don't think I'm alone, I thought everyone should know it. Goodbye for awhile.
