I know that, but I mean so you are automatically joined and you don't need to do +skills apply for it. Or even a way to just link the chatterebox itself into a MUCK-wide discussion channel that you are automatically joined to when your character is created.

The MU uses an opt-in policy: you aren't "auto-joined" to things that you later have to escape if you find them spammy.
Instead, you have to choose to hear spam.
That way, people don't think the spam is the game, and quit because they aren't interested.
