Hallo everybody. This is basically a plea for a) members and b) TP offers for my pirate group, the Crew of The Lamprey. There are seven members at the moment and we RP fairly regularly, but we are in need of a few more seaworthy (or even pseudo seaworthy!) vermin before we can set sail.
Should you wish to join, there are certain posts that are in urgent need of filling. We still need a helmsman, lotsa archers or stonethrowers and some more sailors would not go amiss.
As far as TP's are concerned, we are asking any settlements or ships who would not mind being raided to get in touch. We have had offers from people wanting to fight us for being scurvy pirates and from people willing to trade with us for the booty we acquire, but we need to be able to get the booty first. If you wish your group to become involved with The Lamprey then both opportunities for small raids and out and out warfare are welcome. Thanks for your time and feel free to contact me on or off muck for more information.

Group Idea??

I was thinking about having some school set up. Monks living high in the mountains kind of thing... away from society. But this would be a place for learning and searching through ancient lore. I would set up an IC library to continuously add to. This would be a school for any IC topic you can think of, as well as a central place to have OOC meetings, workshops, etc. Healing and herbs have been mentioned to me, though I'm not sure if I want to add a school of weaponry too. Does this sound like a good idea? Would anyone be interested?

Castle Floret

I have been around for a wile and been rather quiet for the most part. Some of you might know me as Chris, Taron, or Daithi. But any way, I have got it in mind to try some thing that has been tried before, and I think we can do it if we all try.
Floret and the south lands have been kind of slow as of... well as long as I can remember. And I want to bring it back. I cant do it on my own and I want to know how many people are interested and who all will help me reach this goal.
Some of you might be asking “Well what would the plan be?” Let me tell you. It seems that Redwall is going to be rather slow as in big fight MP’s due to is disrepair and a army of hares guarding it. Well, if fighting is what people want to have, that is just one of the many things we can do there. I was thinking along the lines of the last idea that I heard about for it, having an evil beast in charge after the last kind dies and some band of good beasts take it back from the bad new king as it were. Thus bringing happiness back to Southsward, and hopefully a new place to RP.
So if any one out there is interested, please Page Taron or Daithi, as Chris is rather dead and wont help to page that one.

Guosim... Please.

Okay, Belliger, a Guosim shrew, is carousing through Mossflower on a recruit mission for the Guosim. Now, I'm OOCly guaranteeing you that Belliger will do ANYTHING short of death and heavily immoral acts to get people to join. ANYTHING. So far, Belliger has successfully recruited two shrews, and one is in the process. This is a problem, however, because after the one in the process is finished, there are no more active shrews on the MUCK that are not in the Guosim. THEREFORE... We need you guys to create some shrew alts! Go to the Guosim group page to see what we're all about. If you want, I'm willing to work out a plottish thing to organize the meeting, if you want you can have your character just wander to Redwall to meet Lassik, the Log-a-Log, or you can page-mail me with your location and the details of the rp, like if you want Belliger to duel you for it, if you want him to fight off groups of hungry shrew-eating serpents to make a narrow escape via logboat, or if you want him to cross-dress (as a last resort, but YES HE WILL CROSS DRESS!) if you're into that kinda stuff... Just let him know via pagemail. Thanks!

Treesong is getting tired of sitting around and doing nothing. Rally the troops! Any squirrel who's interested in joining up, p#mail Treesong or Marie.
In the book Mossflower, Lady Amber and her squirrels were awesome! This will be an attempt to match that, though I doubt we can get that good.
We'll be centered out of Brockhall I think, though I haven't run that past Boar yet.

Non-Anthro Animals

One thing that has always made me curious is what the MUCK policy is on non-anthro/normal animals. Obviously there were some in the book. The beasts of redwall had to get goatsmilk from somewhere. Not to mention eggs for all of the pastries they make. Then of course there was the pony from the first book. I was just wondering what other non-anthro beasts there are. Might make for some interesting RP opportunities.

Help! I haven't been on Redwall MUCK for a loooooooong time. Say maybe, 7 or more months? I've tried every character I have and their password, but it says that none of them exist. What happened and how can I get them back?

Recurve bows

Well, I'm not entirely sure of usage of recurve bows in medieval western Europe, but in other parts of the world they were very popular. Should they be a viable weapon IC, or not. Your thoughts please.

Just a quick note! Growing at a steady pace, the group is in search for more guards (contact Hammer and Keldorn) and for crafters of all types especially miners, carpenters, blacksmiths, cooks and healers! If interested check out the site http://redwall.muck.limitless.org/groups/mapleleaf and contact myself and Larissa! Peace.

A Request

Hey, ah, folks. I've got a bit of a request here, and I'd like to hear opinions on it. I've noticed a whole lot of group advertising going on here on this board, and I was wondering if maybe we could tone it down a little. After all, the description of this forum is:
Free discussion for issues regarding the MUCK or website. This isn't focused, and can be quite spammy.
And while your group may be really spiffy, I dunno if it would qualify as a MUCK issue. That's what the group formation and individual group folders are for, which is where I expect to look if I'm interested in any of the groups on the MU. These advertisements, in my opinion, tend to detract from any discussions that may be going on. And when they come in bulk, they're rather annoying, regardless of which group it is.
Thoughts?

Flood

It's official. As of the morning of July 10th, the Broadstream will be flooded.
It's a flash-flood. No previous warnings, no previous heavy rain. The water will surge in from the ocean, raising the water level and generally making a muck of things on the MUCK. Hee.
The water will not return to its normal level until at least the 23rd, but... It may just go all summer, if it increases RP opportunities! And even after the water returns to normal, remember the side effects of a flood: mud, debris, waterlogging, dirty water...
Those around the Broadstream determine the damage. The descriptions will state the water level has changed, but those in the towns like Ruingate and Mapleleaf will determine how their towns are affected. Is your well overflooded? Is your water dirty now? Will you have to look elsewhere for trade, if you can't cross the Broadstream?
Have fun!

I used to be on RW a long time ago and was just curious as to if anyone here is from way back when.
I want to say I started in 1995 but I'm not positive on that year. I started long before the whole "Nameless" situation arose - I still have logs from 1997.
So if anyone, other than the admin who obviously were around, lemme know. I'd be interested to see if you knew my characters.
