Attention...

I'd like to call attention to a very well written post on the event wishlist page. I won't copy it over here, but the gist of it is that some of the RPers on the MUCK (and I agree) think that there is too much gloomy RP. Josiah wrote about Redwall, though I'd expand that to the MUCK in general. Check it out, I think it's an important issue.

The Redwall Abbey and the Books
Posted by:

In the Redwall book I am reading now there are otters, mice, squirrels, badgers, voles, moles and hares in the abbey. When I play the game /all/ I see are mostly dibbuns, mice or martens And maybe a fox here and there. There is the occasional squirrel. Why are people not wanting to make beast the suit the abbey, like in the books. I mean, I have yet to see a vermin in the abbey in any of the books. I have heard there are some books with vermin in the abbey, but not as many that are on the muck. And I have seen no one running the abbey. You know, like the badgermum, an abbot or abbess, or council members. And now, when I go to the abbey everyone is in the infirmary, except for dibbuns. That is why I have really stopped RPing at the abbey. I would like to go back there, but no one seems to be happy there like Toni says. My advise to newbies is either go to Ruingate or Mapleleaf. You can get better help and better RPs. But that is my opinion.

Whatever happened to this command? I thought it was a really cool thing when it was being used. Perhaps it can be started up again and something about it re-posted on the site? Just a idea!

Be careful here and blogging!

Everyone, I don't find blogs interesting. That's not what this is about.
People are starting to get fired RL because their employers "don't like" what's in the blogs. Blame Google, I suppose. For example, read this CNN article about people being fired over their blogs.
This web site (and logs from RP events that are posted to other websites) are all indexed by Google. So, be sure that when you put something here, it's something you won't mind being available to future or current employers!
And for the record, the logs of the MU itself are not posted publicly (though excerpts are when there are false claims made by players removed who claim it was unjust). The only time something from the game will be public is if someone posts their own logs, or things that get broadcast to a logger (which is currently down, but will return at some point).
Please, blog freely, but remember: the US Constitution doesn't protect you from being fired or sued over your thoughts. It only protects you from being arrested for expressing your views except in special circumstances ("Freedom of Speech" doesn't let you slnder, libel, divulge classified information, etc.). So, use good judgement!
And it may be years from now that what you say today comes back to haunt you.

COLLINSEL CITY

As in requests before this, there have been the urges to get Collinsel City back into a fully functioning group. Though it seems that no steps have been taken to reach this goal, and I am willing to take the steps forward and try and make the city of collinsel a great city...again. I am asking now, that if Vaticus, would possibly hand the power of controlling collinsel over, so that we can reinstate it to its former glory, we can work together to get this job done. I am asking now for your public support, to possibly influence his descision on handing over the power of the city. Also, if you are interested, or would like to contribute to making this dream of the MUCK come true, please contact me outside Yellowjacket_32@hotmail.com, or in the muck by talking to me on shiloh.

Helpers That Don't Help?
Posted by:

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel that the Helpers on the muck aren't really helping. The instructions in the muck say to either type @help new character or page a staffer in order to get your character created, but nobody seems to respond.
After I got my character created, a friend of mine logged on the next day to join as well, and she had to wait at least half an hour (or more) for her character to get created. She only got her character after someone finally did page her asking if she needed any help.
I got another friend of mine to join a few days later as well, and he too had to wait a while before he got his character. I really don't think people should have to wait upwards to an hour after setting up their character info.
However, there are two helpers that I must commend because they -did- help when asked. Those two people are Antonia (I think that's her) and Taili. They were very helpful and did their job. Congrats.
- S. How can you find out the date where you've joined the muck? I'd love to apply for a Helper position 'cause I really like helping guests out.

I have heard of a radio function mentioned in certain blogs and am curious as to whether a normal player (i.e. Non-admin) may access it. If so, how does one go about doing so? I thank you for your time, whomever decides to respond to this.
