Goals and Policies

In considering what we're here to accomplish and how we're to go about doing so, we've set a few In-Character and Out-Of-Character goals and guidelines, and outlined the OOC courses of action our Administration will take in ensuring we promote positive and respectful gaming practices:

GOALS

OOC

  1. To establish an organized and administratively sound group that will continuously provide quality roleplay opportunities for all players, vermin and woodlander alike, of any species and any level of experience.
  2. To establish a wide range of imaginative positions for existing or new players to incorporate into their own agendas and maintaining flexibility for players with demanding schedules.
  3. To establish a mentorship program to familiarize new players with the game, its commands and its policies, as well as to help new players to incorporate principles of individualized, inspired character development and inventive, positive roleplay practices.

IC

  1. To network beasts with wares, goods, information or skills for sale with prospective clients and consumers.
  2. To establish secure and functional trade routes between Order settlements and strongholds as well as unaffiliated establishments.
  3. To establish a reliable courier service within the Order to transport information as needed.
  4. To provide work and compensation for any vermin beast with a skill and work ethic.
  5. To facilitate functional pillaging raids and slave trade.

POLICIES

OOC

  1. Keep your RP G-rated.
  2. If you have something offensive or damaging to say to another player OOCly, keep it to yourself or risk suspension of membership and both IC and OOC banishment from group-owned areas. Remember, characters are welcome to attack characters in roleplay, but players are not welcome to OOCly attack players. Bring any disputes to a group Administrator.
  3. Familiarize yourself with the policies and legal topics on news index. Ask a group admin or game staffer if you have any questions.
  4. Members must log in to roleplay at least two hours a week and will be subject to suspension if they idle for way too long without properly informing administration of a reason why they will be taking a leave of absence. Members who have idled out of the group will be subject to review for reinstatement if they request it.
  5. OOC information is to be kept OOC and must not translate to IC knowledge unless it has been acquired ICly by viable means through RP.
  6. Players should be familiar with positive and respectful roleplay practices. Practices such as twinking/godmodding are considered severely disrespectful and generally distasteful, and actions will be taken to ensure that members know not to employ them in RP.
  7. If you have logged a roleplay and would like to submit it to post on the site, be polite and ask all the characters involved in the rp for permission to submit it to be posted.

IC

  1. Any member caught committing the following crimes against another member of the Order, Order property, or any individual considered under Order protection is subject to punishment. Listed in vague order of severity: Vandalism, Rebellion, Fraud, Forgery, Trespassing, Smuggling, Arson, Blackmail, Looting, Kidnapping, Larceny, Defecting, Assault, Treason and Murder.
  2. Officer's orders are to be followed under any condition. Refusal to do so will be followed with punishment.
  3. All High-Ranking Officials and Council members are to be treated with adequate respect. Failing to do so will be regarded as a rebellious misdemeanor and will be subject to punishment.

OOC Courses of Action

Be Aware!
We take our policies seriously. If a player is granted membership and it becomes known to an Administrator that the player employs undesirable or inappropriate roleplay practices such as twinking/godmodding, is being generally rude or distasteful, or is breaking OOC group policies or OOC Game rules, the following actions may be taken (depending on the severity of the infraction):
  1. He/She will receive a first(1st) warning with an option for coaching in positive roleplay practices and IC/OOC etiquette.
  2. Upon the 2nd complaint, a second(2nd) warning will be issued, and OOC coaching will be mandatory, but the player may still be allowed to roleplay freely within the group.
  3. Upon the 3rd complaint, the player will be placed under mentorship supervision within the group, and will only be allowed to RP under the supervision of an assigned mentor (may be more than 1 mentor).
  4. Upon the 4th complaint, the player will face either temporary or permanent suspension, depending on the severity of their infractions.
  5. If a player is reinstated from temporary suspension or from the mentorship supervision program and continues to misbehave, he/she will be permanently banned from group membership and reported to game staff.
  6. Any banned players attempting to have an alt unfamiliar to UMOCHIP Administration re-join will be reported to game staff.
  7. If it becomes necessary for a group Administrator to report a problem player to game staff, all logged complaints (with proof if available) about that player's infractions will be provided to the staffer for review.
  8. Administrators reserve the right to skip any of the initial counseling steps and go right to a staffer with a report on the problem player if the infraction is deemed duly severe.
  9. If no UMOCHIP Administrators are online at the time of a serious OOC dispute, or if there is a game rule being broken by a member of the group, other UMOCHIP members are urged to log the incident and contact a game staffer if there is one available, and also to submit any information pertinent to the situation in an email to umochip@gmail.com or page #mail to any of the UMOCHIP Admins (NurJehan, Ronan, or Dasting), including any logs so that the Administration can take precautions to ensure the player is properly counseled/no longer a disruption.
  10. Many UMOCHIP Administration decisions may be influenced by suggestions from any member of the group, and input is always encouraged. It is appreciated that when there is any issue subject to review, any unedited logs pertaining to that issue specifically should be sent to umochip@gmail.com for review. Decisions may also be influenced by Game Staff. All Administrator decisions are final within the operation of this group specifically. One dispute per member regarding any finalized issue may to be made in a conscientious manner to Ronan, NurJehan or Dasting, and will be considered if appropriate/valid. Further courses of action may be taken by the Game Staff at their discretion - if this is so, UMOCHIP Administration will honor the staffers decisions.

Mentorship Program

The UMOCHIP Administration is developing a program to counsel new, misguided or problematic players in different areas of gaming, both OOCly and ICly. A detailed informational page about the program and what you can do to help will soon be available on the Logs and Articles page. Please check back or email umochip@gmail.com if you'd like to submit an email address to be included in an update newsletter. Ask Ronan, NurJehan or Dasting about serving as a program mentor.
