Mad Skippers and Welsh Otters
Characters Involved: Nero, Airis, Arllw, Parukk, and Bedivere.
Holt Summerdell Main Cavern
You are in a very large cave that has a high ceiling. This is a large cavern hollowed out by the water. Long tables are set around the room with benches for seats. At the far end of the hall is a slightly smaller table with neatly carved wooden chairs on either side and at one end two larger chairs for the High Rhulain and the Head Skipper. At the center of the room is a large fire pit to illuminate and warm the room. The room smells of good food and many feasts. In a far corner you see the cooking area. The sound of the falls drifts towards you.

Nero walks out of the cooking area, whistling.
Airis comes up from the deep caverns, not whistling but actually singing. her sweet voice is echoing in the hall.
Nero sees Airis, and says, "Good Evening, ma'am."
Arllw drags himself in, and says, "Ble Ydw I? Pa bryd ei?" (This is pronounced Blay Udoo Ay? Paw brrayd ay?)
Nero sees the sudden new arrival, and cocks an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
Airis also looks to him giggling to herself first looking to nero "hello" then turning to Arllw "oh why are you dragging yourself? do you need help?"
Parukk enters in a strange look in his eye. He nods to Nero saying. "I ain't feelin' well." He sits down. "Where's that Stafe got to?"
Nero says "I don't know."
Parukk slams his fist gently on the table. "I wanted to play one-twenty with him."
Arllw says, "Pwy Stafe? Pwy ti?" (Pronounced Poowa Stafe? Poowa tay?)
Airis looks to see parukk entering and runs to him "hello dear"
Parukk looks at the strange otter. "He's me ole messmate. Why do ye speak like that matey?"
Parukk looks up. "Hello." He looks undecided.
Arllw asks, "Pa Ydych chi dywediad?" (pronounced paw udukh khay duwoodayawd?)
Parukk looks back to the strange otter. "What's yer name matey?"
Parukk looks back to Airis. "I gotter tell you somethin'." He looks to Nero and winks. "Stafe's a good plooker player." His stomach gurgles. "Ohh, it's gettin' to me."
Arllw seems to comprehend, and says, "Arllw." (pronounced Arloo. Trill the r's, and for the ll, say it while blowing out.)
Parukk looks at Nero. "You shoulda warned me."
Airis looks up at parukk "what do you want to tell me?"
Nero says, "I just saw him drag himself in." He shrugs.
Parukk smiles mischievously and looks at Airis. "Stafe started it!" He looks back to Nero. "No, 'bout the ale."
Nero says, "Oh. Ermmm...should I go get the jug?"
Arllw asks, "Pa Ydy Cerddediad Ymlaen?" (pronounced Paw Uda Kairthaydayawd Umline)
Parukk ponders this. "Hmmm. The falls is just over there?" He points to the waterfall.
Nero gets a jug, and fills it up in the falls.
Airis persists parukk "what is it?"
Parukk looks at Nero with a terrified stare. "Uh-oh." He backs away from the cook.
Parukk readies to flee from Nero's jug at any second. "Not my fault! Stafe started it!"
Arllw says, "I piser dim deall!" (pronounced Ay payserrr daym diathl)
Arllw grins, and douses PArukk, who obviously seems drunk.
Parukk staggers and falls down after getting soaked. "I tol' yer it was the pirate's fault!"
Parukk tries to return to his seat slipping the whole way. He mutters something under his breath. After a while he says. "I'm going to go shoot some arrers! I tol' yer it was the pirate's fault!" He gets up and stomps off to his room.
Arllw sits down, and yells in frustration. "Gah!!! I piser dim deall chi pobl!" (Pronounced Ay payserr daym dythl khay poble)
Bedivere walks in from the deep caverns to the scene, and steps on pace back in surprise.
Parukk stops. He shouts back. "Gabble jibbik!" He continues walking past Bedivere. "Hello."
Airis watches with amusement as parukk gets drenched
Arllw looks puzzled at these strange otters, then says, "Pa Ydy gabble jibbik?" (Pronounced Paw Udu Gabble Jibbik, meaning What is Gabble Jibbik)
Parukk walks back in hastily. "Ducky's angry." He looks back.
Arllw asks, "Pwy DUcky?" (pornounced Poowa ducky. You wouldn't know it, but it means who's ducky)
Bedivere says, "'Rukk, take a deep breath, and calm down." Bedivere /is/ just a bit bigger than PArukk.
Nero goes back into his kitchens, returning with his sling, which he had left in there.
Parukk looks back again. "He's still mad from when I shot him yesterday. I didn't follow the rules."
Arllw shouts, "Nag, Peidio!" (Pronounced Nawg Pydayo)
Parukk says, "He get's grumpy like that."
Nero says, "You shot him?"
Parukk holds his stomach. "Might need anuther jug. And what else would I do with a Target Practice Dummy?"
Bedivere says, "Parukk, why on earth were you using an otter as a target?"
Parukk looks at Bedivere. "Bedi! He aint an otter he's a vermin dummy! I'll show you!"
Parukk says, "In just a second."
Parukk walks himself to the falls and sits in it. "You know I think I've picked up some hare accent."
Bedivere says, "You said you shot an otter!"
Parukk looks confused. "I did? Well I'm in the falls already so no more jugs!"
Arllw shouts, "BOD DISTAW!" (pronounced Bod Daystawoo) The message is clear enough. Though in welsh, any can understand it plainly means be quiet, or, less literally, shut up.
Bedivere stares at the welsh otter.
Nero does the same as Bedivere.
Parukk starts talking to himself. "Well now we've got a rude otter. wot wot! See told yer!"
Airis just watches from the side with amusement
Parukk continues. "Well just look at that group. A cook, a skipper, some pretty ottermaid, and the strange one. It'll take a lot of scoff to feed them, wot!"
Bedivere says, "Parukk, I do not think you are in the right mood to be out here right now." Okay, no sea otter accent and nautical talk there. He's serious. And starting to sound like his mother for some odd reason.
Parukk walks outside returning with two leaves stuck to his ears to make them longer. "Humpf! I say jolly bad form sirrah! Sayin' a hare's out of his mind, wot!" He smiles mischievously and winks.
Arllw shouts, "Hyn ei hi! Caead fyny!" (Pronounced Hun I Hay! Kyad vunu!) He turns to Parukk, and says, "Rydych chi amwyll!" (pronounced Rrrudukh khay amoowuthl)
Parukk suddenly he rips the leaves off and puts on a evil look. "Harr! Put yore paws up and tell me where yore treasure is!" He stands up straight and thinks. "Huh, where'd I get that from?" Shock suddenly fills his eyes. "Rocks." He huddles up in one corner. "No, no, no, not the rocks. Look out for the rocks! Rocks. No!" He screams in pain. "Dead. All dead 'cept me and Bedi." He continues like this for a while.
Parukk gets up, and dashes off.
Bedivere gets suddenly concerned, and chases Parukk.
Parukk's Personal Library
This is Parukk's personal library. This fairly large room is carved from the rock. On two walls of the room are bookshelves filled with the history of Green Isle. On the other wall is a fair sized desk with a lantern that lights up the room considerably, several sheets of parchment, a quill pen, an ink jar, and a small tome on it a and comfortable chair in front of it. The room is quite dusty.

Parukk huddles in a corner. "Dead. All dead 'cept me and Bedi." He shivers and whimpers.
Bedivere walks in, and stoops down next to Parukk, putting a comforting paw on his brother's shoulder. "'Rukk? It's gonna be okay."
Parukk looks at him. "Oh Bedi. They're all dead!" He begins to moan like an injured beast.
Bedivere says, "You don't know that. Neither do I. If I survived, there could be others. We could go out and search for them, if you'll feel better."
Parukk looks at him. "I want to stay here. Want to sleep..." He curls up on the floor and begins to snore.
Bedivere smiles at his brother, and leans against the wall, determined to stay with him.
