Darklett is sitting up in his cot, footpaws hanging over the edge and planted on the ground. He looks down at them with his paws poised on the cot's edge, as if he's ready to try and stand.
Sorrel walks in, same time as usual. She starts talking to dark as she walks over to his cot, southern accent in all it's glory.
Sorrel says, " Sorry a haven' been 'round fer a while, but the' started buildin' tha' wall down by the quarry. if Zoe fin's me here a'm done fer." SHe notices Darks position as she arrives in front of him. "Dark, What are ye doin'?" She asks suspiciously."
Darklett looks to Sorrel, and smiles. "They've started building? That would explain why it's so empty around here..." He looks back down at his footpaws. "I'm gonna try and walk. I can't just lie here anymore, it's driving me cr... I don't like it."
Sorrel supresses her laghter at Dark's strong feelings. She looks concerned, slightly. "Ye sure ye can take it?"
Darklett makes as if he's about to stand up, but stops before he actually does. "I don't know. Last time I did this it hurt a lot, but it's been feeling better lately..."
Sorrel moves to a position that would allow her to catch him if he fell.
Darklett places pressure on his paws, and begins to stand, placing all the weight on his uninjured left leg. Slowly, he puts more and more of his weight on the injured leg, until it's even. He looks a little wobbly, and his face slightly contorts in pain, but he's still standing.
Sorrel moves to catch him, because for a moment it looks like he could fall, but all seems well, and she stands up straight, beaming.
Darklett places some more test weight on the leg, and smiles down. "Okay, so it's not collapsing on me. I'm gonna try walking." And he does take a few steps forward, and although it's with a heavy limp, he doesn't fall. He turns around, grinning. "This feels really good..."
Sorrel con't resist laughing. "An' tha's why ye have tha' look on yer face? I thouugh' it was jus' pain, but eveyone has differen' ways o' enjoyin' therselvs."
Darklett shrugs, and walks back in the other direction, limp lightening a bit. "So, how'd you escape the work to come back here." The original question was "why" but he fixed that in his mind.
Sorrel shrugs. I told jar what i was doing when i left. He don' mind, But A don' think Zoe woul understand, or beleeve tha' I go permisson to go here."
Darklett stands at the foot of his cot, looking down at the shorter Sorrel. "Heh, I just hope Jarril doesn't get in trouble. I'd be more worried about him than you. He's got something to... Ow." His right leg wobbles a bit as he goes to shift his weight as he speaks (a habit of his), but he corrects himself and puts all his weight on his left leg. "Yeah... I don't think it's best for me to leave this place yet. Oh, wait, I can't anyway. Ha!"
Sorrel looks a bit concerned. "Yeh sure yeh don' wanna sit down? See, the thing is, a think tha' Jar thinks there's somethin' goin' on between us...." and as she trails off, she blushes a bit.
Darklett shakes his head. "No, I better get used to standing... He does?" His left ear folds over a bit in reflex.
Sorrel shrugs. "A could be wrong, i've been wrong before..." Dark might not want to sit, but Rel does, and so she jumps on Dark's cot.
Now that Sorrel sits, Dark figures it's not a sign of weakness if he does, too. o_o So he does. "What do you think makes him think that?" That's one of those tester questions, see what she says...
Sorrel blush deeens, and she shrugs again, eyes downcast. Her voice is barely audible. "I dun no..." a slight smile on her face.
Now -that- was informative. Darklett smirks. "You see, I ask, because I was pretty sure there was something going on between us, too..."
Sorrel looks up at him, bright red. "Well, i was hoping, but, y'know, ye didn' seem tha' interested..." She draws designs in the sheets with her finger, blushing uber deeply (Yay, uber :) )
Darklett laughs quietly at Sorrel's embarrassed uber blushing. "Really? I need to work on that, then... I guess I'm better at acting interested when I'm not than looking interested when I am..." He slowly creeps an arm around Sorrel. "...Is this a good start?" Guess Dark's sarcasm actually has a kinder, gentler side.
Sorrel laughs a bit. "Yea." She moves closer to him smiling.
Darklett leans in closer. "Maybe if I did this..." He pulls Sorrel closer to him to bring them together in a deep kiss.
Sorrel squeaks a bit, as she's pulls in close, but she doesn't resist. Any heartbreak that could possiby have been left by Ru is demolished immediatly.
Darklett brings his other arm around Sorrel's back, and deepens the kiss, holding her close.
Sorrel puts her arms round Dark's neck. She turns her head slightly to the side.
Darklett pulls back, finally, after a long while. "Convinced?"
Sorrel laughs a bit. "Uh huh." She smiles, and puts her head on Dark's chest.
Darklett runs his paw down Sorrel's head, neck, and back, bending his neck down to plant a kiss on the top of her head. "Good."
Sorrel can now see all the holes in Dark's tunic, this close. "Dark, yer clothes need mendin'."
Darklett closes his eyes and smiles, opening and rolling his eyes to the ceiling. "I think that can hold off. It'll probably just get more holes anyway."
Sorrel shrugs. "Still..." The doe rings her head up, arms still around The buck's nec. "Ye hungry?"
Darklett nods. "Yeah. These injuries and whatnot... Tend to be too taxing on the tummy, you know how that is?" He grins, slowly standing up, ow, ow, ow, AND we're standing.
Sorrel jumps down from the cot. "Want me to get somethin' from the kitchens?"
"...Yeah. I'll just... Stay in here for a bit." Darklett sits back down on the cot. "Don't want to push my luck with this leg, or anything." He smiles up at Sorrel. "You know, I'm glad we got this all cleared up."
Sorrel nods, beaming. "Yea." and.. exit Sorrel.
