Of Daughter and Dad and Fun Times to be Had

Dark and Audri have a little talk. It's kinda cute, really.

Saying her goodbyes to Taye at the dirt path, Audri has wandered her way to the main street of the small fishing town, choosing a nice shady stoop to rest under. Resting back against the little shop, she has begun working on yet another sketch in her book, head tilting to the side as she chews her pencil in thought.

Darklett walks on the main street, heading away from the tavern to just have a stroll around Halyard. Spotting Audri, he half-smiles and steps over to her, paws in his pockets as he comfortably sidles up to Audri. "Hey, how's it goin'?"

Audri's ears flick, paw closing her book as the buck appears beside her. She puts up a happy visage, offering a smile while scooting over to make room on the stoop. "A'right. Just got back from gettin' all my things 'n all. How's things with you."

"Can't complain at all," Darklett lies, peering down at the book. "Drawing a little, then? Anything I can see, or are you not done yet?" The hare moves his head from the book to the squirrelmaid, winking at her with a grin.

"Good to hear." Audri replies, studying the hare for a moment. Hm. "Oh, yea. 'n ya can see. Just some sketches is all." She mumbles, flipping open the book to her newest creation, which seems to be the beginnings of a sketch of the village.

Darklett sinks down next to her and cranes his neck over to see the book, smiling. "Ah, I see. Lookin' good, Audri. Where'd you learn to draw like that? I know /I/ didn't teach you." He laughs, nudging Audri a little. "I'm worse at drawing than I am at cooking..." His ears flick. "Speaking of which, are you getting hungry?"

Audri flushes slightly, shoulders rolling back in a shrug. "I dunno. Just kinda started doin' it." She mumbles, studying the drawing before closing the book once more. She giggles at the nudging, nose crinkling in thought. "Um..alittle bit. Didn't eat much while I was back at the mountain."

"Alright. We can go eat soon." Darklett leans against the wall, head flat against the building. "I guess that's one good thing about staying with Keita, is that we have the tavern to feed off of. With my cooking, we'd starve."

Audri giggles again, leaning over to place her book in her haversack before glancing back to the buck. "K. 'n I can cook some. Though its mostly desserts so it wouldn't really be to healthy."

"...Audri?" Darklett doesn't look too excited about what he's about to say, an almost painful roll of breath coming out of his nostrils. "...Do you know why we're staying with Keita?" He looks to the squirrelmaid, eyebrows slightly arched, softening his eyes.

Ergh. Audri's ears slowly begin to tilt back, teeth sinking into her lip, giving a small shake of her head. "No, I don't. But..its not that important. I don't mind stayin' here or nothin'."

The dark buck almost tells her right there, but just lets a shrug and a nod suffice. "Alright, then. It'll give us some good time to take you swimming, and maybe fish a little." Darklett goes back to smiling optimistically towards the squirrel. "It'll be fun."

Audri bobs her head, sighing inwardly as nothing is sad on the matter. "Yea, it will. There's lots o' fishing stuff here so maybe we can borrow some to use." Aud offers, fiddling with the strap of her packet. "Probably need to move the boat closer too."

Darklett nods in agreement. "Yeah, we can go find it and move it closer to Halyard tomorrow morning. Sound good? Right after breakfast." The hare starts to feel a little genuine happiness now... Hey, this whole thing might actually work out. "Maybe afterwards we can have our first swimming lesson."

Audri offers a true smile, bobbing her head once more. "Yup. Sounds good. 'n maybe I can teach ya how to cook. Cause that could come in handy sometime. Especially iffen we get some fish."

"Yeah, except we might need some other stuff beside desserts, heh..." Darklett grins, chuckling to the squirrelmaid. "Think as soon as we can, we should get a house. Can't live in the tavern forever, right?"

"True. Maybe I can find a recipe book to use." Audri says, nose crinkling in thought. She hms, ears perking up. "I s'pose. Would we have to build it or is there some open one around here?"

"Well, we can see." Darklett shrugs, stretching his arms out in front of him. "We don't have to know right now, but when we can get a house, then we can decide. Would you still want to live here, do you think?"

Audri chews her lip, toying with her strap again as she thinks on this. She finally bobs her head, smiling faintly. "Yea. Seems nice 'n its close enough where I can still visit my friends 'n all."

Darklett gives a quick, decisive nod. "Well, it's settled! Halyard it is." He grins and pulls Audri close, giving her a rub on the opposite arm before patting it and letting go. "I'm kinda excited about all this, haha!"

Audri giggles, returning his hug with a grin, looking happy that he's happy. "Yea, it'll be fun livin' here. Be an adventure." Or something. XD

"It'll definitely be different than anything I've ever done, that's for sure..." Darklett smirks contently. "Well? How about we go grab a bite to eat, eh?"

Audri glances off towards the tavern at the mention of food, stomach giving a small grumble of agreement. "A'right." Standing up, she goes to grab for her pack.

"I hear they had a good catch today," Darklett comments to his daughter, standing along with her. "...I'm gonna like living in a town like this."

"Really? Never had fish much before." Audri says, shouldering her pack while glancing around the village again. "Yea, so am I."
