Background History:

Jarril Black Fleetpaw was born up in the Northland Mountains.  He went and left home at the age of 5 seasons of age, taking 2 seasons to get to the mountain, pausing briefly to stop off at Redwall Abbey before heading off to the mountain itself.  There he met Colonel Zoe Lang, unknown at the time to be his cousin twice removed.  Jarril went fast through the ranks in the early stages of the patrol and got to be given rank of Major when during his first patrol he pretended to be one when he was the only hare to do so in the young group of hares when they were faced by some vermin.  This event went un-noticed by Colonel Earblade who when back at the mountain, played a trick on Jarril telling him off before stating he was given the rank of Major at the age of 9 seasons of age.

The next ten seasons, Jarril has been in two to three wars, seveal conflicts and has gained several injuries.  He has also started to slow down, unable to keep up with the new young runners of the patrol but is still fast enough to out run any heavier hare who has taken up the task of being a fighter within the patrol.  Jarril has had a few cuts here and there but the main injury he has is that he has lost an eye when fighting a vermin horde leader and coming out of that barely with his life, still young and inexperienced.

Jarril then began to learn and soon with more experience he began to teach the new recruits on patrol procedures as well as to not make the same mistakes he had made in his young days within the patrol.  Whenever asked by a recruit on what they thought of Jarril, the usual reply would be that he was a unfair, bully that didn't give an inch but later on, most if not hares thought differently when they survived through a rough spot during a patrol and then thought that he was a good hare though tough.

Recent events:

Jarril has come back from a patrol which he led back to his homeland.  After hearing news from someone several seasons ago but wasn't able to get back there until now.  He returned home to see what had happened when his parents and family were killed.  However, during the patrol, the major has heard that he may have a brother and a sister elsewhere that could be alive but no one in the area could prove any evidence to it.  Most of the patrol that went with him ended up growing up and became more experienced, though they did have a rough time up in the north which made most toughen up a lot more.  Jarril may have plans to do more patrols up there to toughen up new recruits due to the harsh enviroment.
