Realism Counts

We all know that Redwall Muck is based on a fictional set of books, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't play our characters realistically.

I have several years of experience on Redwall MUCK, during which I've learned the importance of developing a sense for what my characters can and cannot do.

Here’s what I’d like to offer as a consultant.

Dibbun Development: Interested in playing a dibbun? I’ve been studying Child Development for quite some time now, and I can help you out with any questions you may have. I can work with you up through adolescence, suggesting key traits that your character may have as they grow.

Disabled/Sick Role-Play: It happens. One of our characters will break a bone, lose a paw or get a splinter. Some players have difficulty thinking of things to do with a bed-ridden character. I can help suggest a few things your character might go through mentally when they’re all bandaged or trussed up in an infirmary.

Battle Ready! Have you ever wondered about characters who kick down oak doors, do backflips in heavy armor, or fight off ten opponents at once? If you're serious about roleplaying a good fight, I can help set realistic boundaries for the performance of your character based on his or her physical attributes and skill. Additionally, for those wanting to roleplay warriors without the first idea of what to do, I can give tips on playing out an effective fight scene.

Weapons: Want to wield a long sword, but have no idea how to carry it around? I’m here to help! No matter what weapon your character wields, I can help you to learn about its real potential in a battle. Come to me with your questions about anything steel, arrow or ‘sharp’n’pointy’. If you’re interested, I can help critique your battle style and suggest ways to improve your weapon play so that everyone has a great deal of fun in the RP (Even if their character’s life is at stake!).

Parenting: Uh oh. Your dibbun-free life just came to an end! This calls for big changes! I can help you realize the responsibilities a parent comes to face. Sleepless nights, kissing bruises and listening to the wail of a little one that just didn’t get the piece of pie they wanted. It’s not easy being a mom or dad! I'll give you tips and advice on how to accurately play the stress your character is going to be under.

Non-Player Characters (AKA: The Spoofed Guys): So you’re walking along, and there’s one character in a room. You begin to role-play, only to find out they’re surrounded by a spoofed badger horde! Whoah, how do you deal with that? I’m here to set realistic expectations for spoofed characters. If you encounter a situation that doesn’t seem IC, page away and we’ll work it out.

Basic Character Development: Backgrounds, descriptions and accents oh my! If you just want to sit down and hammer out a character, I’m here for you!

OOC Disputes: You’re having fun, and then suddenly trouble occurs. You’re not sure how to approach this person, or you simply can’t come to a resolution – then give me a holler. I’d be glad to help you out with anything stressful that has occurred on the muck, after all we’re there to have fun!
