Characters Involved: Skyblaze, Hallow, Tovin, Shadowbow
Camp Willow: Main Grounds
In effort to do something different today, Tovin is sitting atop her customary rock. It's unknown how she got up there, but she's up there, both legs hanging out over the rock. She's propped up on her paws, leaning backwards, staring at the sky.
Lightsail has arrived.
Hallow has been out walking and stops when she sees Tovin, not really wanting to disturb her she quietly makes her way towards the rock and too looks up at the sky for a while.
Skyblaze hops onto the rock between Hallow and Tovin, looking between the two other otters and then up at the sky. He cranes his neck back so far he topples over onto the rock, and just stares up, dumbfounded by the other two
Tovin blinks when she notices the two new presences that have invaded her domain and looks down at Skyblaze flopped out on the rock. She cocks a humored eyebrow and then looks at Hallow and grins. "G' afternoon."
Hallow looks at Skyblaze and raises an eye brow before turning to Tovin, she smiles a bit, gives a nod and a short "Hello"
Gyle enters from the other side of the grounds.
Gyle has arrived.
Gyle has left.
Skyblaze stares up at the sky still, watching a cloud. "Hi hi."
Tovin looks away from the other otters and turns her gaze towards the camp. She swings her good leg some and sighs contentedly. "Nice day 'tis."
Skyblaze nods, staring awkwardly at the others and sighing. "I wonder where Lightsail is..." he asks randomly, tilting his head a little as the cloud floats away.
Hallow continues to smile a bit, a slight twinkle of something in her eye "Aye a nice day indeed" she frowns a bit puzzled and looks down at Skyblaze then "Hadn't even noticed he was gone"
Tovin shrugs lazily. "Dunno where he went."
Skyblaze shrugs, "Gone fer a few days... Didn't even say anything this time. Usually he leaves a note or something, but 'ee was just gone."
Lightsail has disconnected.
Hallow keeps the frown and adds a "Hmmm, seems to disappear off alot" she shakes her head a little "Still I suppose he'll turn up sometime or another"
Tovin nods, obviously unconcerned about the whole thing. "Aye, I'm sure he will."
Hallow looks back up at Tovin and smiles a bit more, she's not going to say anything yet though.
Tovin begins humming a funny little tune. She's quite content, sitting on a rock, talking a bit, and staring at the camp grounds. Nothing better to do.
Hallow watches the otter for a moment before turning to look off towards the woods and nothing in particular, listening to Tovins humming for a while but still seeming to be intent on quiet thinking for the moment until she can think of something to say.
Shadowbow comes in from the pathway to the side grounds.
Shadowbow has arrived.
Tovin stops humming suddenly, cutting off mid-note. A curious look comes to her face and she asks a question that's she's been thinking about for awhile now. "Where're you from Hallow? If you don't mind me askin'."
Hallow gets cut off mid thought and turns back to look at the other otter "Er, down south, up the top of the cliffs" she looks a little puzzled "Why?"
Tovin shakes her head and shrugs. "Jus' wondering."
Hallow shrugs back "Fair enough, where you come from then?"
Skyblaze has disconnected.
"Not to far from here actually. A few days journey to the..." Tovin points her paw in random directions, trying to pinpoint where's she's from, "Ah, North." She shakes her head. "Sorry. 's hard to remember where I'm originally from. Been so many places."
Shadowbow walks towards the two otter maid as he spots them, coming from the main grounds, and catching the last words of Tovins sentence before he anouces his presence, simply. "'Ello!"
Hallow smiles at Tovins words but then gets distracted by Shadowbow, she gives a nod and her usual short "Hello" in his direction.
Tovin grins from her position atop the rock. "'lo Shadowbow!"
Shadowbow looks up at Tovin with a grin, looking down at Hallow, and back to Tovin, "Are you two havin' a good day?"
Tovin nods and swings her good leg again. "Aye. So far. How 'bout you?"
Hallow smiles a bit and looks once more towards the woods "Can't says I'd complain of it"
Shadowbow nods, walking towards Tovin, "I've had an alright day..."
Tovin smiles as he walks towards her. "Glad to hear it."
Hallow seems to have disappeared into her own thoughts, smiling slightly, eyes still on the trees and not really paying much attention to them in the least.
Shadowbow looks the maid in the eyes for a moment, "Your crutches aren't going to drive you too mad before you can get off them are they?"
Tovin grins and pats the mutilated wooden things leaning against the rock. "Nah. But thank you for asking." She laughs. "If I get too mad, I'll just take it out on 'em."
Shadowbow nods, "I could always lend you my knife on the last day...." Grinning.
Tovin leans her head back and laughs happily. "I thank ya, mate. But I've got plans already. Plans that I'm going to enjoy."
Shadowbow chuckles, "If you need help, just ask...unless you don't want to share the fun."
Tovin nods. "I'll see. It might be harder than I expect it to be." She glares at the crutches. "These things seem to have a mind of their own."
Shadowbow nods, "They see to be regretting it too," he looks at the crutches.
Tovin grins. "I hope they are." But then she scowls thoughtfully. "But really, when you think about it, it's not really their fault that I have to use them."
Shadowbow looks up at her, "It's not your fault ether though."
Tovin nods. "Aye..." Her eyes have grown cold and her voice quieter. Apparently, the fox still brings back bad memories.
Shadowbow watches her eye go cold, "Tovin? sre you going to be alright?"
Tovin tenses momentarily and then relaxes. She nods. "Yes. Yes, I'll be fine. It's just...it's so hard to forget. Even though he's dead that doesn't..." she was about to say bring my family back, but she stops. She doesn't want Shadowbow to feel bad for her.
Shadowbow nods, "It doesn't change the past, or bring anyone back," he may not know all that the fox did, but he does know the feeling, he gives her a weak smile back, as he figures she'd guess why he knew what she met.
Tovin doesn't know much about Shadowbow's past. She hasn't really had a chance to meet him. She'd been at Camp Willow for a grand total of one week before she was kidnapped so she hasn't had a very good chance to meet everyone really until now. So the passing look of confusion on her face is the result of wondering what happened to him in the past to make him understand how she feels. However, she continues with the conversation. "Aye. I know that. And I've long since understood that there's no way to change it. I just have to go on."
Hallow quietly walks off back towards home without a word or warning, still thinking about things though not looking partially worried about anything she doesn't seem entirely all together there, strange otter today.
Hallow has left.
Shadowbow sighs, "It took me three seasons to give up and finally admit that to myself....You won't get the story from anyone else in the camp, none of them know anything about me before I came here....So I'll tell you some time."
Tovin nods. She doesn't want to pry into where she might not be welcomed so she doesn't ask any questions. She just relaxes on her rock again, fox temporarily forgotten, wondering how they got from the crutch conversation into the fox conversation. She smiles eventually. "'s good to have friends." she remarks, seemingly out of nowhere.
Shadowbow smiles up at her, "Yeah....It's hard to have friends when you travel allot though..."
"Aye. This is true. But sometimes just being alone is desirable as well." Tovin looks at him, waiting to hear what he thinks.
Shadowbow stops, as he thinks he knows where she's going with this, but he won't lie to her, "Yes...But if your all alone, you have no one to turn to or catch you if you fall..."
Tovin grins. "True, very true." She admits that he does have a point there. But still, sometimes Tovin's just got to be alone. "I'll give you that much. But I still don't know, mate. 's a hard decision."
Shadowbow nods, "I know...but 's not like I'm going to read your mind, and never give you space ta breath."
Tovin buries her face in her paws. "I know, I know. It's just..." she continues, but the volume of her voice goes down and her words become unclear.
Shadowbow quickly looks up, ears drooping and concern easily audible in his voice, "What's wrong?" he reaches up to her shoulder, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you."
Tovin is still for a few moments before removing her paws from her face and speaking. "This is just, very difficult for me.." she pauses again, trying to decide whether to tell him anything else and finally decides in the negative and lets the statement drop.
Shadowbow leans towards her to hugs her, feeling like he'd somehow done something wrong by asking her those few days ago "I'm sorry.."
Tovin accepts the hug. "Don't be. I really shouldn't be bringing my problems onto you like this. I'll figure it all out...eventually."
Shadowbow sighs, shaking his head and brining it back to look her in the eyes, "When I asked to come with you, I was agreeing to be a shoulder you could cry on, and a beast you could come too...I..." he sighs, and he goes quiet.
