Mountains surround the city of Saricus, which itself is built upon one. Forest has been thinned in the immediate area of the city for lumber, but otherwise has a thick presence. The city is compromised of three tiers: Canum, built at the base of the mountain. Astralis, built at the tree line. And Volucris, built between the two. The skies are windy, and often sing through the many city towers.

The winters in both valley and mountain are cold, snowing heavily in both places. Come spring, floods are expected, as the snows melt and spill down the mountains. In Saricus, efforts to divert water from both rain and snow have been made, but water still flushes into Canum. Drains have been dug beneath the walls to help the lower tier during these times. Erosion has caused many problems in the city, but are generally well managed.

Summer and spring are celebrated seasons. Insects, a staple in Saricus foods, return from their hibernation. The warmth of the season becomes far more hospitable, and the city itself seems to return to life. A Colosseum event and city-round festival marks the first day of spring, in a great celebration of the warmer months.

The valley is prime spot for farming, due to the rich soils. This is where much of Saricus gets its vegetable products, and it does quite well in supporting itself. Fruit is also grown and harvested here. Throughout the seasons, insect farms are also run.
