"... Everybeast has a place in society. The thinbloods' is at our feet."

- Eryta Yarrick

The culture of Saricus is thick with history. It's society is built on a foundation centered around a caste system, and Families. Each of which fight to prove themselves better than the other. The three most powerful families in Saricus make up the city council, with the lead Patriarchs as the elder leaders. Their unanimous agreement is required to make the final verdict on decisions concerning Saricus. The military is considered a secondary power in the city, though ultimately it governs itself and is separate from the bureaucracy.

Noble families are born into their status and wealth, whereas the lower castes are almost ensued to stay within their respective tiers of society without hope to ascend. As for marriage, creatures who marry outside their own species and/or social level are looked poorly upon. The Basilicas of the city typically will bluntly refuse to administer services for any such unions.

Despite their culturally evil description, Saricus is also a place for the arts. Music and song are widely approved of in the bat population. The art of sculpture is also admired, as can be seen in the carvings of their city towers, stairs, statues, fountains, etc. Ironworks is definitely considered an art, as well, among Saricus bats. But art, one must admit, is not the favorite pastime of Saricus. Pit fighting and gambling has become a staple in the city community, and many beasts of the lower castes become fighters of the rings to try and prove themselves. That, or for the glory of hearing their names chanted, and money being placed in their favor. The Colosseum, located in the Atrium Caverns, is a pride among the city.
