Canum is the lower tier of Saricus. Many non-winged species make their home in this low-class part of the city, as do condemned bats or thinbloods. Once-slave families may make their home here, escaped or freed. The same goes for criminals, or has-been bats that have been defaced. Much of Canum is in ruin, and constant efforts to rebuild and enforce the law goes on. This is the most overlooked part of Saricus, and the most poverty stricken. Seasons ago, the mines went dry. Very few veins of precious ore exist anymore, and those that do are now mined by the prisoners of the Carcer Prison. With the loss of so many jobs, many are turning to the trade of slaves, contraband, and pit fighting.

Notable Areas in Canum:

- Canum Fighting Pit
The fighting pits of Canum were once illegal. The higher societies feared it would play part in fueling an uprising from the denizens of the lower tier. For seasons now, however, it has become accepted, and is no longer a concern to the Saricus Families. Canum now has its own primary pit, dug out from a cavern within the mountain. Here, gamblers find their fortune or their bane. Lower classes fight to either prove themselves, or for the glory of hearing their name chanted and money being placed in their favor. Events occur year 'round, unlike Saricus's Colosseum, which will allow only one event per month.

- Canum Market
The market of Canum is a basic area for local shopping. It is not near as busy as Volucris's market, but at times can boast a fair amount of traffic.

- Three Winged Star Tavern & Inn
The Three Winged Star is popular among the locals. Its doors are open to any who live in Canum, and even the casual visitor. Beasts of Astralis and much of Volucris, however, would be wise to stay clear.
