Water Wars Log

The fun and long war of water held late one night in the Great Hall.
(Sunday, May 15, 2005)

Isaac nods to Juniper and chuckles. "Come try this food, Juniper," he
says. "Yeah. I wonder, if I hadn't stepped in, they might have
actually gone outside with the intention of fighting rather than meeting
again in a brief skirmish."

Amethyst comes slowly in through the entrance, backward. She's pulling
along a tub filled with water and rags, and by the way she's inching
along, it's apparently pretty heavy.

Juniper needs no second invitation where food is concerned. With a
grateful smile, he takes a helping of the pot pie and draws a mug of
cider. "Aye, thanks, Isaac. What were the two up about, any..." he trails
off as he see Amethyst dragging the tub. He runs to lend a paw,
leaving his untouched food on the table.

Darkmane glances over at Amethyst and offers a wry smile "you are aware
that you could always ask me to help you with that my friend, i might
not belong to the abbey but help is freely offered"

Josiah was busy eating his helping, and was about to go lend a paw when
Juniper beat him to it. Ah well. After finishing some, he nods and
greets the fellow novice. "Evening, Ame. What's that you've got there?" he
asks, not quite seeing all the contents of the tub from where he is.

Amethyst shakes her head a little, a grin appearing on her face,
"You'll see in a minute.."

Isaac scratches his head a little, watching Amethyst curiously. He
smiles and asks, "What, so secretive? I bet you're up to no good, Ame."
He winks teasingly and snickers.

Hemlock glances up, too late himself to help the mousemaid with the
tub. He tilts his head slightly, and just leans back in his chair and
watches, placing a paw on his belly. Listening to the others talk, he's not
sure if he should be wary or not.

Juniper tugs at the basin, finding it heavier then expected. "Oof...
have... this... in... half... a minute... M'am...." The basin has moved
slightly.

Josiah decides to lend a paw anyway, seeing how Juniper is having a
little difficulty. He gets up and goes over to him and Ame, and glances in
the tub. He can only guess by the contents. "Doing some laundry?"

Amethyst says, "Here's fine.." Amethyst straightens and turns around.
That grin is still there, "I have decided.." she begins, "..That the
Abbey has been too serious lately."

Juniper stands up, his back popping slightly.... "Aye? Has it, now?"

Isaac nods to Amethyst and smirks. "Oh really?" he asks. "I don't
blame you for thinking so, after today. But what are you proposing? A
cleaning party?"

Darkmane says, "sounds fun to me, the beast to clean the most gets a
prize ::snickers slightly:: one year of cleaning duty"

Juniper takes the opportunity to clean his plate, at least. He begins
eating.

Amethyst says, "No."

Josiah looks intrigued. "I agree. What do you have in mind?"
Josiah asks, "Or is that the secret?"

Amethyst reaches into the tub, pulls out a dripping wet rag, and throws
it toward Isaac.

Augustus slinks in from the kitchen. The great deal of noise causes him
to stare at whatever is going on. Augy skirts along the edge of the
wall, throwing up a wave to whomever might be looking. The mouse makes his
way slowly to the library.

Amethyst scoops out two more, sending one in Augustus' direction, and
one in Josiah's, "Driest creature at the end wins!"

Josiah uh-ohs, and barely ducks in time. "Aww, I'm not even done with
my food yet!" he says with mock dismay. "Guess I'll have to be quick
about it!" Instead of heading fo rhis food, however, the mouse instead
goes for the rag that missed him.

Augustus gets smacked in the face with a wet rag. The thing wraps
around Augy's snout, causing the young mouse to jump and puff out his fur.
"Eep!" He cries out, peeling the wet thing from his snout. "What... is
this a game, then?" He questions, looking up.

Juniper semi-retreats into the corner by the fireplace, hoping for a
chance to eat before dampness takes over the Great Hall.

Isaac is very startled. He drops his spoon onto his plate and picks up
the wet rag from his place. He grins devillishly at Amethyst and gets
up, flinging it at her, darting toward the tub to grab another wet rag.

Josiah then makes a break for his food, and rushes over to Juniper. "I
won't throw any at you until you're done with your food if you do the
same for me. Deal?" He then quickly goes to finish up his 'snack'.

Juniper grins. "Deal, pally."

Amethyst squeaks and starts to dive behind the tub as she sees Isaac
throwing...too late. She gets smacked right in the side, "Oo! I'll get
you now, Isaac!"

Augustus holds the rag in one hand, his other going to adjust his
glasses. Augy stares at it for a moment and shakes is head. "Odd..." He
finally says and wanders over to where Amethyst is. "I think you dropped
this..." He says seriously, then grins, chunking the thing at her before
retreating.

A paw reaches up into the tub from behind it, and Amethyst peeks out
just long enough to start to throw it at the first creature she
sees...Only to have a rag splat on the top of her head from Augustus, "Eep!"

Darkmane smirks and slinks toward one of the tossed rags and lifts it
up, toughtfully surveying the hall before seeing augustus' throw and
flings the rag in his direction.

Amethyst pulls the rag off her head, tossing both of the ones she holds
toward Augustus, "Take that!"

Isaac blinks in surprise, letting down his guard for a brief moment as
he stares at Augustus. The sight of the scholarly mouse 'fighting'
back seems to utterly fascinate him.

Josiah practically shovels the rest of the food into his mouth before
setting his plate down on the table before then hurling the rag he
has...at Amethyst.

And another rag hits Ame in the face from Josiah, sliding off to the
floor and leaving the mousemaid blinking water drops out of her eyes. She
starts absolutely cracking up into a fit of giggles.

Augustus keeps scuttling off until he thinks he's safe. The mouse turns
to let out a laugh when a rag flies right into his open mouth. Augy
splutters and pulls it away quckly, only to get to more battering up
against his sides. "Well now!" he squeaks, gathering up all the rags. Augy
darts off and under a table for a few moments, to bide his time.

Josiah then gives a funny look of mock fear, as he has no more rags to
throw after that one. He quickly looks around for a stray.

Juniper hmms... finishing his meal, he downs the last of his ale and
slides over towards the basket. Rather than taking a rag, though-- he
fills his tankard with water and flings the contents at Amethyst. Hey,
she just said 'driest', she never specified that rags actually had to be
used. And Juniper doesn't always play fair...

Amethyst scoops up the rag on the floor, sending it once more flying
through the air in Josiah's direction. She stands to scoop up as many
from the tub as she can fit in both paws to fly after the first one she
threw...Though, with that many in paw, some of them inevitably end up of
course. And then, she's soaked by Juniper, "YEEK! Oh, I'll get you
for that!" And she promptly starts splashing water in Juniper's
direction.

Augustus pops out and hurls a rag at Josiah. "Here, Josi!" He says with
a wicked grin, duckign again behind the table. His small size is put to
use as he weaves through the table legs and chairs, rolling out to
chunk another at Darkmane.

Isaac fetches a pair of rags and dunks them in the tub. He promply
backpedals a bit and, in a stunning move of betrayal, flings them at
Juniper, cackling with glee.

The rag hits Josiah square in the chest, and he oofs softly. "They got
me!" he dramatizes, falling to the floor. Then he can't hold back
laughing.

Juniper chuckles as Amethyst splashes him, though he raises the hood on
his cloak to help shield himself... then Isaac's rags thwak him in the
side of the head. "Hoi! You treacherous rip!" he yells, laughing and
trying to scoop water at Isaac with the mug.

Amethyst tries to get over behind Juniper as he's distracted by
Isaac...and shove him right into the tub.

Isaac laughs mirthfully at Juniper. He quickly moves to get out of the
way of Juniper and promptly slips. "Woo!" he exclaims, tumbling onto
his belly, getting promptly drenched by Juniper's mug. From his
laughter, it's clear he's not hurt at all.

Josiah then suddenly gets up and makes a fast break at Augustus,
hurling the rag back at him.

Augustus crawls and rolls along the floor, very glad to be as small as
he is. augy hides behind the tub and peeks out. He squeaks as he spies
Josiah running for him. The mouse ducks quickly, feeling the rag whiz
by his ears. "Hah!" He calls and jumps up, throwing his own rag right
back at Josiah.

Juniper turns as Isaac slips, and sees Amethyst charging him. It's too
late to get out of the way, so he does the only thing possible-- he
tries to get ahold of her habit and take her with him! "Down to the ocean
floor, Miss!"

Amethyst's squeak turns into burbles as she goes headfirst into the
tub. She peeks back up, now utterly dripping with one of the rags on her
head. She starts snickering, "Anyone think I still have a chance at
winning?"

Juniper tumbles backwards in the tub at the same time, his bushy
squirrel tail now as limp as one of the damp rags.

Amethyst pulls the rag off her head, leaning to dump it on Augustus,
who is conveniently located right over the edge.

Isaac picks himself up slowly, snickering quite a bit. "This is gonna
be fun to dry up, you know," he says. With Juniper and Amethyst out of
the way, he picks up a couple rags and sneaks over to get a good aim at
Augy. He lets his rags fly!

Josiah of course is running so fast that he can't stop to get out of
the way, so he gets hit right in the chest again. "Aww!" he says, again
in mock dismay. "I almost had you!" He then throws the rag right back at
Aug.

Darkmane grins evily as he gets a devlish idea and strides directly
toward the tub in a circular manner and looks around before lifting the
whole tub and tipping it on it sides to hopefully totally soak those
outside the tub in the flood

Augustus widens his eyes. "You wouldn't..." He squeaks as Amethyst
starts to topple the tub over. The novice is about to scramble away when
when two well-placed rags hit him in the forehead and stomach. The mouse
squeaks and falls back, only to feel bother Ame and Dark send a wave of
water his way. Augy is swept a few paces away, completely soaked head
to tail.

Amethyst was /inside/ that tub! She goes tumbling out with a squeak,
left in a heap on the floor. She uncurls and sits up, promptly grabbing
two rags to send in Dark's direction with a grin, "You're not gonna get
away with /that/, Dark!"

Juniper, still in the tub, tumbles out and facedown on the floor. It's
obvious he's unhurt, though, as he raises one paw and mumbles, "Rainy
season comes early in these parts. Aye."

Josiah oops as he sees the water hit Aug. He actually feels a little
bad for him, as he wasn't trying to double-team him. He then snatches a
rag from him and says to the tub perpetrators, "That wasn't very fair!"
he says with a laugh as he throws this rag at Darkmane.

Isaac blinks in surprise but holds his ground as the water spills
around his ankles, soaking the bottom of his cloak. He smiles a little and
says, Fascinating..." He crouches down to grab a rag, having been
rather unaffected by the spilling of the tub.

Augustus scrambles up, holding his arms out and watching the water come
off of him like a waterfall. His fur is pressed down to his skin, and
since his habit was given to a bleeding newt... well, one can imagine
how small and skinny the young scholar must appear. He picks a rag from
the spilled contents and hurls it at Darkmane himself.

Darkmane acks as he suddently is bombarded and concidering his size
merely accepts all the direct hits "all teaming up on me dosn't seem that
fair i must admit" grins wryly "so how many point was the tub turning
worth?"

Juniper hops upright, his wet tail flung over one shoulder like a
bedraggled scarf. He shouts, "Damp before dishonor!" while flinging his
dripping tail towards Isaac!

Amethyst stands up, grinning slightly as she glances around and pulls
the rag off her head, "Anyone not dripping yet?"

Isaac grins, getting water and a tail flicked at him by Juniper. But
instead, he tosses his rag over to Amethyst and winks. He got a nice
big mugful of water along his back earlier, but he missed out on the
Great Flood.

Josiah has a few wet spots on him, but he's not all that wet. Upon
hearing Ame's inquiry, he uh-ohs, and again looks around almost frantically
for a rag to defend himself with. o.O; O.o;;

Augustus backs up, holding up his paws. "Well, it isn't me...
goodness... I don't even have a spot to dry my glasses!" He admits, patting his
paws on his white tunic. Augy peers through his now-blurry lens.
"What's the prize, anyways?"

Amethyst catches the rag tossed at her. A grin appears on her face as
she spots Josiah's franticness. She bolts for him, throwing the rags as
she does, "Hey! Josiah needs a hug!"

Juniper pushes back his damp hood, grinning like a lunatic. Which,
come to that, isn't far off.

Darkmane kneels and picks up all the rags thrown at him and more or
less folds them up in a ball "hey, Ame, you know somebody who needs to get
wet?"

Augustus almost falls down laughing. He doubles over, pointing at
Juniper. "Hah! You look like a drowned rat, Juniper!" The young mouse
cackles, his eyes squinting shut.

Juniper hahs. "Drowned rat? You're no otter, yourself, Augy..."

Josiah meeps, and catches the one Ame throws at him. He throws it right
back before bolting away from the others. And boy is he hauling to get
away.

Augustus puffs out his chest and whaps his skinny tail on the ground.
"Well, of course I am. You just start calling me 'Skipper' from now on,
you hear?"

Amethyst stumbles on a puddle, falling but catching herself with her
paws. She's not hurt, which is clear by the grin on her face. She points
toward Josiah as she looks to Darkmane, "Get him! Get him!"

Darkmane grins even wider seeing the rapidly distancing Josiah and in
one fluid motion throws the 'ball' of rags after him, watching the ball
disintigrate as he flies toward its target

Isaac steps back a little, glancing at the other wet beasts in the
Great Hall. He chuckles a little, seeming to be quite satisfied with his
apparent invisibility.

Amethyst chuckles and stands up. She makes her way toward Isaac,
intending to throw a dripping wet arm around his shoulder with a smile, "So!
Who do you think won?"

Augustus looks up. "Personally? Darkmane." Augy admits, jabbing a thumb
back in the horses direction. "Great big galoot. That tub trick sent
him over the top."

Isaac deftly takes little hops away from Amethyst. He grins widely at
her, trying not to slip as she homes in. "Well, definitely not you or
Juniper. Augy's more wet than me, and because of my size, I'm wetter
than... than.. Darkmane?"

Juniper warms himself by the fire, trying to dry off a bit.

Sunrose treds in with little Graham on her hip, fussing up a storm.

Amethyst grins as Isaac hops away, glancing toward the others,
"Alright. Darkmane, I think you're the winner! You win the title of King of the
Wet Rags!"

Augustus laughs and plops himself down into the huge puddle of water
surrounding the tub. "Oh, what a noble title!" The novice chimes in with
a huge smile. Suddenly his eyes turn... and he gasps. "Sister Sunrose!"
He squeaks, scrambling into a standing position. He's habitless and
soaking wet... yup, not suspicious at all.

Sunrose's jaw drops.

Josiah does turn around, and the ball hits him...again, right in the
chest. "Doh...I don't think it's me. Whew." He huffs and puffs a little
from that sprint, and notices Sunrose enter the room. "Uh-oh..." he says
again, a little softly. He takes the rag off his chest and holds it
behind his back. Though that only exposes the big wet spot on his chest
from numerous hits.

Amethyst smiles sheepishly at Sunrose, "..I'll clean it up, Sunny.."

Josiah grins a little sheepishly, and attempts to nonchalantly greet.
"Evening, Sunrose. What's the matter?"

Isaac's jaw drops a little as he sees Sunrose. He laughs nervously and
waves a paw to her. "O-oh! S-Sister Sunrose! WE're... we're just...
having a, uh... a water-spill-cleaning-party."

Amethyst suddenly starts giggling at Josiah's response.

Juniper hehs, and gives a cheery, "Ev'ning M'am!" Exactly as he would
if he weren't a soaked squirrel drying out by the fire.

Darkmane grins wryly and just leans against the wall, the rags that hit
him not showing tomutch against his clothes luckily "evening Sunrose,
good to see you again"

Sunrose looks down at the floor, her right eye twitching. Even Graham
goes quiet.

Amethyst is absolutely dripping. There's not a dry spot on her. She
makes her way over to Sunrose with a mischievous glint in her eyes and a
huge grin on her face, fully intending to give Sunny a hug, "Aw, Sunny.
No worries. We'll get it cleaned up 'fore morning!"

Augustus steps forward and coughs. "Really, Sister. It was me... you
see, I thought I could carry that whole big tub by myself... and you know
my size... well, everyone was just trying to help. I'm very sorry."

Sunrose's eyes go big as Amethyst comes her way, "Aaaie! It takes me
forever to dry, I'm fatter then you!"

Amethyst stops, but continues to grin, "Oh, alright. You escape -
/This/ time!"

Isaac laughs mirthfully, tail flicking about excitedly as he watches
Amethyst and Sunrose. "Who cares who started it? I wouldn't have
participated if I didn't fully intend to help out! Sister Sunrose, there's
some vegetable pot pie over at the table!"

Sunrose puts a paw on Isaac, "Good responce, Isaac. Offering food to
someone that says 'I'm fat' is a great idea!"
Sunrose asks, "You know what you guys have to deal with now?"
Sunrose exclaims, "Do you!?"

Augustus coughs. "Um... clean fur?"

Amethyst says, "...What?..."

Sunrose puts Graham on the floor.
Sunrose says, "Him."
Sunrose runs for the stairs.

Josiah just keeps his mouth shut...and watches Sunrose go upstairs.
"...?"

Amethyst exclaims, "Eek! Run for your life!"

Augustus gasps and staggers back. "No! Sister!"

Amethyst exclaims, "No, Sunny, no! Mercy!"

Graham lets out a toothless squeal, and immediately flops onto his
back. The poor thing doesn't crawl, he rolls. And he precisely starts
doing that, twisting and turning through the water - throwing droplets
everywhere. "WAiiiiiiiiii!" he squeals.

Josiah blinks at the others and their dismay. "...Wha?"

Augustus hops up on a chair and holds his pantlegs up knee high. "Aie!
Mouse!" He cries.

Sunrose hides beside the first step of the stairs, watching from a safe
corner.

Amethyst yeeks and dashes behind the upturned tub.

Augustus breaths heavily. "All right... if he keeps rolling...
somebeast tie some dry rags to him... he'll have this placed mopped in no
time!"

Amethyst laughs, "That's a good plan, Augustus! You get to catch him!"

Graham goes 'spiraling' towards Isaac, blurbling the whole time.

Augustus moans and steps from his chair, trying to sneak up on the
little babe. "A'right... Graham? We're going to play a /really/ fun
game.... ok?" Augy steps forward. "Isaac! Grab him!"

Isaac just grins wide-eyed at Augustus. "I should go grab a bunch of
dry rags, anyway! I'll be right baaaAAAACK!" He tries to hop back and
slips, splashing down on his rear. But he grins, suddenly lunging
forward to try to catch Graham.

Josiah is far enough away (after having bolted like he did earlier)
that he's a safe distance away. At first he was just confused, but now he
cracks a smile again. He snickers as the others take cover, but he
also looks around for someplace to take refuge from this little storm
just in case.

Amethyst stands up, heading for the door, "I'll be right back with the
dry rags!"

Augustus gulps and clamps his eyes shut. "Hurry!" He urges her.

Amethyst asks, "Hey, if you think you can dodge the little fluffball of
terror, can a few of you start gathering the wet rags back into the
tub?" Amethyst shouts, "Anyway - I'll be right back!" And she hurries out
the door.

Augustus nods and plucks a rag from his feet. "I'm on it!" He calls
back with a smile. The mouse retreats back to the tub, tossing the rag in.
He casts a glance to see how Isaac is doing.

Josiah nods a little at Ame's request. "Think I'll do that, and then
head to bed for sure this time!" And so he goes, moving quickly to pick
up any rags lying around, not only to get the job done faster, but
hopefully avoid Graham in the process.

Darkmane says, "i'll let my part of the cleanup be moving the tub away
again"

Graham is sounding like a minature fire-alarm, no wonder Sunny tossed
him at them like a live grenade.

Josiah manages to get 4 or 5 rags and throws them in the tub quickly,
and then makes a break for the stairs. But that involves running on the
water that's spilled on the floor. He sprints at it, and stops a few
feet into the large puddle. It has the desired effect, as the healer
mouse skids across in the direction of the stairs...wobbling the whole way.
"Whoawhoa...Whoa!!" As he nears the steps he jumps, the momentum
literally sending him flying.

Isaac crawls after Graham, thoroughly soaking his cloak. He tries
again to catch the Dibbun, grinning.

Augustus skips around, trying to avoid Graham. Of course, no attention
was being paid to the healer. The mouse is bowled out of the way,
rolling and bumping in the opposite direction from Josiah. "Oh my!"

Graham flails, you know, like an octopus. IF you look from fair away,
it /does/ look like eight limbs. Someone gave him a candy chest nut,
obviously. Isaac manages to get ahold of his footpaw.

Josiah arms shoot out in front of him to break his fall. He tumbles
once before his footpaws bring him to an abrupt, complete stop on his
behind at the base of the stairs. A paw goes to his head, as he looks a bit
disoriented from all that.

Darkmane grins wryly as he just leans against a corner of the room
watching the happenings silently, having no plans at *all* to getting
involved

Amethyst comes back in carrying an armful of dry rags, and there's an
old blanket over her shoulder for the horse made lake, "Back!"

Josiah still sits at the bottom of the steps, still dazed. "Oof..."

Isaac laughs joyfully, catching onto Graham's footpaw. He scoots in,
trying to hold onto him long enough to keep him held secure. "Gotcha,
li'l one!"

Sunrose crouches beside Josiah, "You alright?"

Graham lunches up, "M'mARTN." he declares, and starts cute-chomping
at Isaac.

Josiah stands up after a minute or so, shaking his head to regain his
balance and vision. "Remind me not to try a stunt like that again," he
thinks out loud. He then mutters, "Stella would have my tail for that if
she were around.." He then laughs a little as he draws up a mental
picture of that. He grunts a little before replying to Sunrose. "Yeah, I'm
ok, thanks for asking."

Sunrose inquires, "Are you sure you didn't bump your head?"
Sunrose says, "You -are- a little funny looking."
Sunrose puts a paw over her mouth, "Oh-ho-ho-ho!"
Sunrose is sleep deprived. That's what you get for having three
children under five seasons.

Josiah feels around on his head for any lumps, but doesn't find any.
"Cute," he says with a smirk and his tongue sticking out a little.

Amethyst dumps the blanket on the 'lake', then carries the dry rags
over to dump on Graham with a grin.

Isaac blinks quickly in surprise, a little stunned at this declaration
by Graham. He doesn't even seem to mind the chomping. "Martin? Me?
N-no, no, of course not! I'm... I'm not like Martin, silly! Don't
think I ever could be." He grins, tickling the little mouse.
"Eeeeeeeeee! Gotcha!"

Sunrose winks at Josiah, smiling from the corner of her mouth. Since
Darries death, it's been awhile since she's gotten her humor back.
Sunrose raises a finger, and tells Isaac. "H... He doesn't mean Martin
... he means..."

Graham lets out a 'fierce' roaring squeak, and bites at Isaac's
fingers. While laughing, too.

Sunrose winces, " ... Marten."

Augustus pushes himself up, glancing over at the cluster of beasts.
Augy laughs gently to himself and stands, brushing himself off... not that
it helps... everything sticks to a beast like glue when they're wet! He
leans against the wall behind him for a moment, catching his breath.

Josiah ohs, suddenly realizing what Sunrose means by that explanation.
Quickly changing the subject, he rubs his head lightly. "Mmf! Well, I
think I actually will head to bed now. I'm sure I won't have much
trouble now." Then smiling lightly again, he waves to the others and says,
"It was fun, everybeast, but I'm heading to bed!"

Amethyst exclaims, "Night, Josiah!"

Isaac winces as he's nipped. "Ow!" he exclaims, squeaking. "No, no,
mouse! Just like you! Not a marten!" He seems to take the biting
fairly well.

Amethyst steps on two of the rags, then starts scooting her footpaws
along the ground to dry the floor.

Josiah chuckles a little at Isaac's struggle with Graham. He gives one
more wave to everybeast for good measure before heading upstairs for
the night.

Sunrose glances at JOsiah, "I'll remember you skipping out on the
clean up!"
Sunrose steps in, "Isaac, give him a little swat. He's a terrible
biting habit!"

Augustus watches him go and surveys the scene with curious eyes. He
moves forward and offers to take some dry rags. "Here... Ame... let me
help you..."

Sunrose carefully treds over all the wet rags.

Josiah glances back, mock dismay on his face again. "I helped! Picked
up a whole bunch of rags." Then he bolts upstairs.

Isaac chuckles a little and lightly swats Graham as instructed. "No
biting, little Graham! Not everyone's big and tough like me!" the little
mouse declares.

Graham launches into the pout of a lifetime, "M'ma'tnbite'neatchoo."

Augustus gathers up some of the rags and scoots away, mopping to the
floor as he stares down at it. The young mouse starts to hum gently.

Amethyst says, "Hey, Augustus. Can you sing?"

Augustus peers over his shoulder, his face thoughtful for a moment.
"Well... I've never really tried. It might be fun though... what makes you
ask?"

Amethyst says, "Your humming. It made me wonder."

Isaac laughs a little, sitting on the floor with a pouting Graham. He
pats his head and smiles. "You're a tough one. I bet you're gonna
grow up to be big and strong, Graham."

Sunrose looks towards Isaac and Graham - for a moment, her brow
pinches, and her face falls.

Augustus chuckles and shrugs. He suddenly stands and scratches his
cheek. "Shall we see?"

With a steady stream of low, unintelligible mutterings, Ruingate's
apothecary makes his way down the stairs and on out into the hall, his
focus settled on the sling that is holding his right arm tucked up against
his body, and the same old cloak he was wearing earlier, bloodstained
and all. Not like those stains come out, anyway. Hearing voices in the
hall, he looks up and blinks. "Well, it is rather nice to see some life
here. Rather pleasant indeed."

Amethyst says, "Yeah, okay, Augustus. What do you wanna sing?...Oh,
Udat? I need to speak with you later!"

Darkmane raises his brows looking over at Udat and can't help but
snicker a bit "Now, there is a newt i haven't seen in ages"
Amethyst has disconnected.
Isaac smiles back at Sunrose and shrugs. He says to Graham, "You're a
li'l ball of energy. What'cha wanna be when you grow up?" he asks him,
grinning.

Augustus clears his throat and nods. "Well... I'll just make something
up... I don't know any songs..." Augy lifts his chin and starts.
"Spring is the season of love and life/ of flowers blooming, ending winter
strife/ I sit beneath a budding tree, with bird on feather and humming
bee/ Life is born, and spirits renew.../ on seasons so fresh as dew." It
realyl wasn't so bad... though Augy has no plans to become a bard.
"Eh... how's that?" He asks with a sheepish smile.

Udat is about to reply to the departing Amethyst when he hears
Darkmane...and gives the horse a curious look. "And there is a Dancer I haven't
seen in just as long." He gives Darkmane a slight nod, but then shifts
his attention to the others, moving towards the fire. "What would you
like to speak of, Sister Amethyst? I like to know of planned
conversations ahead of time so that I can focus my thoughts properly."

Amethyst claps for Augustus with a smile, "Very good!..." Then, to
Udat, "Tomorrow, if you don't mind?"

Augustus blushes and looks away, dropping back to his knees to mop
more. "Thanks Amethyst."

Udat nods. "Of course, Sister." He glances at Augustus. "The habit you
loaned me for warmth...I put it with the laundry to be cleaned. Thank
you for the thoughtful gesture." He settles in close to the fire to warm
up a bit.

Isaac chuckles a little. He dutifully helps dry off the floor with
Augustus. He says to him, "Pretty good, friend. I don't know how to do
that kind of stuff at all!"

Augustus glances up at Udat, "It's not a problem. I'm glad you are
okay." H rubs hard at the floor, angling his eyes to Isaac. "Well, that was
the first time I tried! It was actually sort of fun!"

Amethyst says, "I'll be right back..." Amethyst heads for the stairs.

Udat watches Amethyst leave, and then looks to Isaac and Augustus.
"Well...so, I have to ask, how are things going here at the Abbey? I trust,
and hope, that they are fairly well."

Isaac nods quickly to Udat while he works. "Things are just fine here,
friend. I am glad we were able to take care of you. I... do hope you
do not continue to fall into danger as before."

Augustus looks up as Amethyst leaves. He starts to get up in order to
follow, but has no idea what she's up to. The mouse squats back down and
glances at Udat. "yes, Isaac is right... the Abbey is better than it
has been in seasons!"

"Well, that is good news to hear about the Abbey, and I do thank you
for your hospitality. Rest assured, it will be looked highly upon by
those of us from Ruingate, including the Regent...and trust me when I say
that he could not hold this place in much higher regard than he already
does." Udat flickers his glance to Isaac. "As for trouble...so long as
Ruingate holds a presence here to keep the peace...I fear that our own
safety will always be in jeapordy."

Amethyst returns, dressed in an old tunic and pants that are both a
little too big for her. Her wet tunic is over one arm. Though her clothing
is dry now, her fur is still pretty damp, particularly her mussed up
and slightly dripping purple headfur. She moves over to the fire, setting
the habit down to dry.

Augustus sits up, tossing the completely soaked rag into the tub.
"Well, to that the Abbey is grateful, I assure you." He says and looks as
Ame enters. "Dry clothes... that sounds good."

Amethyst grins, "Yep. You should try it."

Augustus gets up and nods. "I just might... hey.. Ame... can I talk to
you in the library for jsut a moment?"

Udat chuckles. "Wet clothing would be the death of me, if I left it on
for too long... As it dries on the body, it has a way of sucking the
warmth out all too well." He chuckles to himself. "Still...there is
nothing like a good swim."

Isaac takes a deep breath, sitting back for a moment. He glances over
to Udat and says, "I don't know if you saw him, but the fox is up in
the infirmary, unconscious. Wel... we tried to keep the two of you
apart... just to be safe." He rubs his neck nervously.

Isaac peers at Amethyst. He lets out a sigh and realizes, "It occurs
to me. I... have no other clothes other than this wet cloak."

Udat blinks slightly and glances at Isaac. "He is...in the infirmary?"
The newt glances towards the stairs, then back to Isaac. "Because of a
hole in his paw? And...as for cloaks, I have but one, though it needs
to be cleaned...or replaced entirely."

Amethyst says, "I'll get you some in a minute, Isaac.."
Amethyst gives Augustus a curious glance, then heads toward the
library.

Augustus starts to move to the library. "You could borrow one of my
habits, we're about the same size." He slips out of sight.
Augustus heads off towards the Library..

Isaac offers a coy smile to Udat and responds, "It seems that...
whatever it was that impaled his paw was... a bit unsanitary, so to speak."
He chuckles quietly and says no more on the matter, nodding to
Amethyst. "Thank you, Ame. It would probably be good to get out of this old
thing..."

Amethyst heads off towards the Library..

Udat furrows his brow. "My blades are always sanitary. It is the wooden
darts you have to worry about. And I make those as a hobby, not for
use." He glances up towards the stairs again... "However, I cannot vouch
for his own personal cleanliness, which may have played a role in his
being...ill, it would seem."

Isaac quietly laughs, nodding to Udat. "I, ah... I really ought to say
no more. It wouldn't be right, being an Abbey-dweller. He was brought
in for treatment by a passer-by, and we cannot ignore a request for
medical treatment. That's all."

Udat says, "No, you cannot. Just as I could not...in theory, refuse
treatment to a patient." He looks to the fire, frowning. "I still stand by
my blades' cleanliness, though. You never know when you may need them
for medical needs...and to have them unclean simply will not do. I deny
responsibility for his current condition, in spite of what he may say.
I would just like that to be known."

Isaac just shakes his head at Udat, shrugging. "I don't care who is at
fault for his condition. As far as I'm concerned, what happens outside
the Abbey stays outside the Abbey. It's a place of goodwill and
hospitality, after all."

Udat nods. "A respectible stance... I would just hate for someone to
think otherwise. It could lead to some un-needed strain on the relations
between Ruingate and the Abbey."

Isaac finishes wiping down a big section of floor. He says to Udat in
response, "I don't even know much about Ruingate. I only first heard
of it a couple days ago, so I really cannot judge at all."

Darkmane muses toughtfully "an intresting place to say the least, even
tho i don't think i'm all that welcome up there anylonger due to my
alliances" wrinkles his nose slightly "somewhat a pity since i liked the
place aside from a few minor things"

Udat nods. "Well, hopefully the chance to remedy that will come of its
own accord. It is a pleasant place, if you discount the cold winters
that the northern lands tend to succumb to." He chuckles softly.
"Aye...yes, in time..." He lets his eyes close, the effect of the hea soaking
into his body starting to make him drowsy. He even seemss to miss
Darkmane's critique completely.

Isaac nods to Udat, finally getting up and walking toward the fire
after leaving the floor much more dry. "I must admit, it has a rather
unsettling name. It sounds... almost a little cold and uninviting, Udat."

Amethyst returns, only to now head for the stairs, "I'll be right back
with something for you to wear, Isaac!"

Augustus moves in, his wet clothing still cling to his wet fur.
"Well... I'm getting very uncomfortable due to the wetness." He states, and
starts out himself... the mouse had probably done his share of the
cleaning anyways. "I'm off to bed... Good night... Isaac, Amethyst, Udat." He
nods to each of them in turn and heads out the entrance, taking the
scenic route to the dorms.

Darkmane shrugs slightly and glances at Isaac "Its how you would think
most Vermin cities to be, having one supreme ruler with his own views
on how diffrent woodlander rank and what their place is"

Isaac smiles widely, waving to Amethyst and Augustus. The floor looks
very dry by now; Isaac's been working hard. "Goodnight, Augy! I'll
see you later, my friend!" He smiles at Ame, nodding. "Thanks!"
