Josiah
Josiah is a wood mouse in the midst of his twelfth season of age (equal to about 23 human years). He is tall for his kind, and has a bit of an athletic build. He has light brown fur except around his face, neck, chest and belly. In those places, the fur fades to a snow-white color. He has brown eyes, a light pink nose and tail, and his headfur is a darker brown, which the mouse makes sure to keep neat.
His garb is pretty simple. The healer wears a brownish-green habit with a white cord tied about his waist which, along with a tree-bead necklace around his neck, signifies that he is a full-fledged Brother in the Abbey Order. He now carries small samples of herbs and salves tucked away from sight in his habit. Also, the mouse is frequently seen carrying with him a hard oak staff, something that he's known how to use even prior to his joining.
This mouse has lived at Redwall before, having recently returned from a long absence. Despite his healing abilities and previous stays at Redwall, it wasn't until after his return that he joined the Abbey Order. His daily chores (whether in the Infirmary or elsewhere) combined with raising a Dibbun largely on his own (aside from the help of the Abbey's Dibbun caretakers), leave him rather busy at times. Nevertheless, the mouse is striving to be patient and caring to every beast (despite the occasional stress he experiences), trying as best as he can to live by the rules of the Abbey Charter. He does this, hoping that he will live to see the day when the Abbey will be fully restored to what it had always been known for before.
