Gynyvieve in the Training Room
Salamandastron: Training Room -------------- Salamandastron --------------- This is the training room for the hares of the long patrol. The walls seem to have taken a severe beating, more than likely not from stray arrows missing the archery targets. There are several of said archery targets lining the west wall, each with small oak stands a good distance off to hold arrows, hang a bracer, and rest a bow on. The targets are of simple design: a large, tightly wrapped bale of hay with a coarse paper target on the front. A wooden mannequin, in no better shape than the walls, is in the northeastern corner of the room. Besides that, several wooden practice swords sit in a small pile. On the eastern side of the room is a small, makeshift wrestling arena consisting of two mattresses tied together. Then on the southern side of the room is a fitness area, assembled from several pull-up bars, and a nice padded area to do push up. Narrow, cylindrical weights (both wooden and metal) are pushed up against the wall, along with a few straight metal bars for them to be mounted on. ------------------------------------- Visible Exits: [Arm]ory [Out]
Gynyvieve fingers a bow that she had practiced with a while ago, thinking maybe to get a little more practice in. She does not notice the monitor lizard come in behind her
Slain enters the area, still flanked by the two escorts, he notices the famili
ar hare maid and decides to watch her progress.
Gynyvieve pulls the bow out of it's rack. She fingers the wire, making sure it's nice and taught, and stands a little ways from the front of the target. She tak es out an arrow, and begins whispering to herself. "Pull back, relax, close your eye, hold your breath...and..." She seems to be a bit nervous of letting loose.
Slain walks up behind her and says softly as not to startle her "You should keep your legs, shoulder length apart, it makes the the stance more relaxed."
Gynyvieve jumps a little, but manages to hold on to the bow and arrow. "T-thnaks , sah..." She follows his advice, and finally manages to shoot it. It lands in b etween the third and second ring.
Slain says with a smile "I see you've become a decent archer since last we met."
Gynyvieve nods a little. "Thank you sah...actually, I've been out of uh...commis sion, you could say, and I'm having a little trouble...I'm sorry, but I don't re member when we met..."
Slain replies "Well, last time we met I had a broken arm in Redwall abbey's infi rmary."
Gynyvieve nods. "I remember now... my apologies. Are you feeling bettah?
Slain nods "Very, I've long since healed from that wound, how have you been?"
Gynyvieve smiles a liitle. "Could have been bettah, but good now."
Slain says "I came this way when I heard rumors of a war going on here."
Gynyvieve blinks. "A...war?"
Slain replies "Well, I'm still gathering details, but as it stands I'm here to h elp free Halyard and find out why Ruingate is allied with the Bloodthirsters."
Gynyvieve shakes her head. "I nevah know too much about other beast's affairs, s ah...I've never been nosy or in the right place, so Ah don't hear much. Howevah....I do know about Halyard. I'd help, if Ah tweren't a trainee ."
Slain smiles "It's alright, it's probably for the best that you're out of the lo op, I'd rather not see the face of your little one back at the abbey if war woul d claim you."
"Ah, sah, I have no child, for I have no hare to share one with. Ah do have an adoptive daughtah, but she lives at the Abbey anyway, and her adoptive f atha is there too."
Slain replies "That's whom I speak of."
Gynyvieve is taken aback. "How...did you know about her?"
Slain replies "She speaks of you quite a lot, she really does miss you."
Gynyvieve looks downcast. "Ah miss her so much, as well...I...didn't know she th ought so much of me..."
Slain smiles "She's doing very well, Clawfang is doing every thing he can to see that she grows up happy and safe, he even joined the Order."
Gynyvieve nods. "Clawfang an' I've been writing to one another, so I know he did ...after being alone so long, it's strange to have family and people who know ab out them."
Slain says with a smile "I know the feeling, when I came here I was alone and ha d nothing but the sword on my back and my clothes, now here I am ready to fight some other beast's battle."
Gynyvieve laughs. "Life's funny that way, wot? I want to help the other Patrolle rs as much as Ah can, but...I also fear for Raine and Clawfang if I have to leav e this life behind..."
Slain rests a gloved claw with a flower tucked into the strap gently on her shou lder "We all must make our choices in life, as difficult as they are, trust in y our self and those around you."
Gynyvieve nods. Then, she starts and puts a paw on her forehead. "Oh no...Ah jus t realized where Ah heard o' Ruingate before.."
"Ah met a fox who, last Ah heard, lived at Ruingate...we were friends, but it's been so long we've forgotten the other's name..."
Slain pats her shoulder "It's alright, I have plan to get the information I seek ."
Gynyvieve grins. "Thank ya. I just remembered the fox's name by the way. Do ya h appen ta know a fox named Ceric?"
Slain nods "I know him quite well."
Gynyvieve nods. "Well, that was him. He and another fox named Maggot were the fi rst beasts I met when I finally left Mossflower Forest and my dibbun years behin d. First friends, too."
Slain says "Ceric is a good beast."
Gynyvieve nods. "Thank ya. I was worried that if Ah was sent to wah Ah'd have ot fight him. Anyway, how is that info gatherin' comin'?"
Slain shakes his head with a sigh "Very slowly... I am still waiting to speak wi th one of the Colenel's about my plan, they've kept me waiting a good two days n ow and under guard."
Gynyvieve looks at his "escorts." "Well, sah, I happen to know Colonel Earblade is in, as well as Luitenant Jarril...
Slain nods "The kindly major Jarril is the reason I'm in here, and I was told qu ite some time ago that Colonel Earblade would summon me."
Gynyvieve shakes her head. "He's in his dormitory, sah, and Ah'm just a trainee. .. Ah don't know how ta help ya."
Slain bows his head a bit "It's quite alright milady, this simple friendly chat is all that I needed."
Gynyvieve nods. "Life's hard when you're not accepted, Ah know..."
Slain says "I've gotten used to it.
Gynyvieve nods sadly. "Aye, it's a hard thing to get used to, but one does."
(Slain room-pages, "I'mma jump off here for now, thanks for the RP". Slain has disconnected.)
