Dreams

The inhabitants of Redwall have started to have some rather strange dreams. What can they mean?

RW Abbey: Bell Tower ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Desc

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The gentle yet encouraging tone of a bell rings out over the abbey. Only one bell is ringing at the moment and it is sounding a bit jerky at times as if the bell ringer has not had much practice. said Bell ringer is Garn, dressed in his habit and moving up and down with the bell rope he is trying his best to keep it in time, What do you want to whisper?

The ringing has... Drawn quite a crowd. Several beasts stand outside the bell tower, staring up at it with heads tilted every which direction. Keiran hobbles out and looks up at the top of the tower, nose shrinking up against his face for a moment.

The bell falls silent and then after a couple of moment the second bell, Matthias starts up, tolling with a deeper voice, a firmer chime. This keeps up for about another minute and then falls silent. Garn pads outside his paws folded inside his sleeves and smiles at Keiran and the crowd. "They seem to be working."

There are a few Redwallers who were slightly worried about the bell ringing, and just give Garn a foul look. Keiran isn't one of them, though. He finds it amusing, and smirks, watching Garn make his way out of the tower. "Huhuh... Uh, thanks f'testin' 'em, Garn." He looks up at the tower, then down to the otter again. "Y'about an hour too early f'th'dinner bells, though, m'afraid, heh."

Garn grins at Keiran and walks over towards the hare, "Oh I don't mind, we can always have dinner early...it is just good to hear them. It is like a dream to hear the bells ring out over Redwall." he pauses and looks around at the crowd and then turns to peer at Keiran.

Keiran The crowd actually starts to dissipate back to whatever they were doing before, and just in time, for the cook, who runs out in a panic just a little too late, looks like he was about to throw a serious fit. "Righ', I really can' disagree with y'there." Peering...? "...S'somethin' th'matter?"

Garn smiles and turns to look up at the Bell tower. "Oh no...I just really felt the urge to ring the bells after my afternoon nap in the orchard. I went swimming and fell asleep afterwards....all i could think about where the bells."

"Really?" Keiran's brows raise. "Er... 'xplain, please." He motions to walk back towards the Great Hall, though his head is still turned in attention.

Garn smiles and turns to walk with Keiran, "Oh it is silly brother...but it was so compelling. I was stood in front of the bell tower watching the sun light them up. It was late spring, the pond was full of fish and I heard a voice speaking to me." he stops and waves a paw. "Ahhh this is silly it was just a dream."

"Garn, please c'ntinue y'dream." Keiran looks rather intent on hearing the rest of it, for... Some reason or another. "Please, I'd really like t'hear 'ow th'rest went."

Garn stops walking to look at Keiran and shrugs. "Ring my voice and heed my call, Wisest first then Warrior True, When the message has been rung, You shall see the one I call, the one whose voice shall lead you all." The otter shuffles and looks up at the south gable. "I then saw a figure walking out of the bell tower, it was a mouse and he smiled at me and said it again." The otter's voice takes on a rather strange lilt as he speaks again, higher pitched and without his characteristic joyfulness. "Ring my voice and heed my call, Wisest first then Warrior True, When the message has been rung, You shall see the one I call, the one whose voice shall lead you all."

Keiran's ears flick. "...S'somethin' goin' on 'ere at th'Abbey, Garn." He turns toward the otter. "Jus' las' nigh', th'Lon' Patrol hare 'arper related a dream t'me. It 'ad a mouse 'n t as well, an spoke jus' as vaguely..." He takes a big breath. "I've... /very/ stron' reason t'believe tha' this's th'work o'Martin th'Warrior."

Garn pulls up his hood and looks down his nose at the elderly hare, dark brown eyes soft and gentle. "I...am just an otter and a Novice, this is bussiness for the Brothers and Sisters but..." he pauses and says one line. "You shall see the one I call, the one whose voice shall lead you all" he looks directly into Keiran's eyes. "It was you I saw when I came out of the Belltower."

Keiran is silent after Garn's words, pursing his lips thoughtfully. "Don' read too far int' it. There were a lot o'beas's ousside, an' lots o'times there've been misinterpretations o'Martin's words in th'past. M'organizin' a meetin' 'mongst th'Order, novices, Brothers, an' Sisters alike. I think we need t'talk about y'dream, an' 'arper's dream as well."

Garn smiles and tugs his hood forwards the rest of the way, "No brother...the sun was in my eyes when i came back out. It was you I saw when i stepped out of the belltower...you won't change my mind on that. Martin is calling you." he chuckles, "He's hardly going to call me now is he?"

Keiran shrugs, turning toward the main building of the abbey in dismissal. "I don' know bout all tha. Martin 'asn't spoken t'anybeas' since b'fore the quake. S'prob'ly a coincidence." Though, he doesn't sound like he believes that all too much himself.

Garn smiles and follows Keiran, "As you say Brother Keiran," he laughs and bounces up to walk level with him. "Probably just a crazy dream from too much sunshine. I mean come on how could i resist giving those bell chords a yank or three. I helped put them up there."

Letting out a short breath of a laugh and saying nothing more on the subject, the Brother grins over at the otter. "Really, weren't y'cold, though? Nappin' out 'ere in this weather, y'boun' t'get sick."

Garn tugs at his large black coat which he is wearing over his habit. "Not wearing all of this brother...and besides I'd been for a swim as well, that warmed me right up." Keiran room-pages, "Best thing about that whole thing, whether you intended to or not, is that you probably wouldn't even be facing the sun when you walked out.".

Sort of staring in disbelief at the otter as they walk, Keiran shakes his head after a moment, grinning. "I really don' think I'll e'er understan' ow tha works, bu' you otters're really somethin' else..."

Garn chuckles softly, "Oh and you mean you hare's aren't? I mean come on brother." he pokes a paw gently against the hare's stomach. "How do you fit it all in? I mean no beast can eat all that food and not explode."

Keiran chuckles, shaking his head. "I don' know, guess I don' think I'll e'er understan' tha', either." He shrugs, giving another quick breathy laugh, stepping to the door of the main building of the abbey and opening it, holding it for Garn.

Garn bounces up the steps and into the Great hall and looks back at the brother. "When is the meeting for?"

Only to have Hawk fall through it, his paw outstreched as if he was moving to reach for the handle when it just moved with out him, the mouse landing on his face. Only to have halk fall through it, his paw outstreched as if he was moving to reach for the handle when it just moved with out him, the mouse landing on his face.*

"I don' know. Maybe one nigh' after dinner, in Cavern 'ole." He shrugs, then blinks as Hawk faceplants right in front of him. "Err...!" Leaving the door open, the buck kneels down and reaches. "Whoa there, 'awk. Y'a'righ'?"

Garn yelps as Hawk falls past him and leans down as well. "Did you hurt yourself my friend? Sorry about that I guess we where not expecting anyone to be behind the door." What do you want to whisper?

Hawk nods brushing the rest of his dust, "I've been on a camping trip the last few days, but..i kinda had to cut it short." He looks to keiran, his eye focusing a bit at the staff at his staff, for a moment

Garn watches Hawk and just tugs the hood of his habit down and settles it about his shoulders. "Is something bothering your Hawx?" "Hm? Why'd y'have t'cut it short?" Keiran can't help but shoot a glance to Garn. This is just too much. His eyes go back to Hawk, and he perks his ears forward attentively.

Hawk says, "I had a dream.' He says plainly, not one for beating around the bush when the question is finally brought out, "..a strange one."" What do you want to whisper?

Garn turns his head and looks at Keiran, an excited grin on his muzzle. "Seems dreams are happening all over the abbey." is all he says, letting Hawk speak.

Hawk he takes a deep breath, "IT was cold...winter i think...mossflower...I was wearing my habit from when i was in the order..i recognized my stitching. I was wondering, i seemed to know where i was going, or at least i acted like it, cause i pressed forward, i wasn't alone either, someone must have been behind me, after awhile..i was starting to weaken..i kept falling into the snow....i was put back on my feet again and again..maybe 5 or 6 times, i finally looked to who was aiding me." He takes another breath, lucky to be inbetween the great hall and out, he points..to the tapestry, "I swear by my namesake eye...it was Martin..." He looks to keiran, "believe me brother when i say this...he never said anything, but he handed me something for my support..it was your walking cane."

Keiran bites at the inside of his lip, blinking down at his own walking staff and sighing. "...We def'nitely need t'meet bout this. An see who else s'havin' these types o'dreams, b'cause now m'sure tha' this's no coincidence."

Garn smiles at Hawk. "That is twice today that I have heard of someone who has seen martin." He looks to Keiran and smiles, "You shall see the one I call, the one whose voice shall lead you all. That is what he said to me, but you are right we need to meet, let me know when." He bows to Keiran, nods to Hawk and heads off deeper into the Great Hall to go look at the tapestry, touching it lightly with one paw before he goes down the steps to cavern hole, the otter quite moved by his day it seems.

Hawk he leans against his unstrung bow, his own staff as you will, "...only in Teko's work of our history have i read anything like this ever happening...so..it actually happens?" He looks to keiran, the mouse guard looking as if he had seen a ghost...ok, so he has seen a ghost.

Keiran scratches his ears, and steps inside the Great Hall, motioning for the mouse to follow. "S'a few records in our lib'ry, but nothin' since b'fore th'quake. S'really a lon' absence, don' y'think?"

You page-pose, "Garn nods, "Am recording them all down in logs so we can all see the dreams linked together and how they link and point to Keir, :) yourts was very very good I liked it. Now good night" to Hawk.

Hawk nods a bit, "yeah...that is quite a time frame...i mean..i've seen vermin do funny things with stones and stuff...but...this didn't feel like a normal dream..it felt so real." You room-page, "send me the rest of your log :) nghit"
