The Table of Seasons
Spring: The season of new growth and weak beings first entering life. It is said that more slaves are born in this season than at any other time. Also known as the "subservient" season. Beasts born in spring are said to be generally weak. They may be shy, affectionate, and uncertain. They can also be sycophantic and suspicious.
Summer: The season of ripening, of less fieldwork, of sleeping through the day and celebrating at night. Also called the "jubilant" season. Beasts born at this time may be self-assured, cheerful, or gregarious. If they are vermin, they may pursue evil as a light entertainment and view hurting others as a kind of game.
Autumn: The season of the harvest, the "consummate" season. Supposedly the birth-season for the most aristocrats. Beasts born in autumn may be calm, wise, and temperate, as well as cold or aloof. They tend not to exhibit strong desires, and are especially sought after as diplomats, but their skills can also make them isolated and lonely.
Winter: The "intemperate" season of storms, hence the season of dominant or violent personalities. Many warriors are born in this season. Character types associated with winter include courageous, passionate, and artistic, but also cruel, exacting, and mercurial.
